RE: Uglier than Mark Shield's Batmobile

OK,

Here are my two entries for the "Representationally Challenged" Batmobile of the year award.

This one gets my nomination because I've seen the owner mobbed by crowds on two separate ADVERTISED occaisions where he was wearing a Keaton Rubie's Batsuit and signing autographs as "The Batman".

(NO... I didn't get one you "dorks"!)

And the second...

This one gets my highest nomination because someone came running into my shop screaming that there was a 66 Batmobile body for sale on the side of the road about an hour and a half from me and... like an A$$hole... I drove out with cash and a trailer to check it out.

Thank you Don C for keeping me from ever having to go hunt down a 66 again.

PLUS... only the side that was (cough) "finished" was viewable from the road.

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
He MAKES them you idiot!

Interesting! Take the blue lights off the top, or else you'll have K-Mart shoppers following you around town. From the pics the body work actually looks pretty smooth. So, is it another round of "Paint it black and call it a Batmobile"?

how I built a batmobile
You guys have probably seen all of these, but maybe there is one or two
you haven't! I started this web page in the 90's and never got around to finishing it, but it's still there! You may detect a BIT of sarcasm as it was when every black car with a bat was being listed as "screen used, original real blah blah", so in rereading it I am kinda taking shots at some of the cars. :) That's as mean as i get...
Check out my (now defunct) store too! (Last few pages are blank, so start from the top and work through until you see alfred dusting a table, then skip to the store!)

These are good pictures to get an idea of how things could go wrong.
I do appreciate the effort though, these woudlbe batathings have endured.

I only hope I can do better.

Gotta do it

I kinda thought the one with the little glued on rear wings, and the bat-door sticker was sorta cute in a goofy way.

Sadly.....the strange first one was from my home state of Wisconsin......sigh...no wonder I get no respect around here !

PS: These pix make me truely reconsider ANY changes I was considering doing to make mine more personalized....I guess More Original, DOES equal More better., and Yes I realise thst's poor grammer.

I can appreciate all the effort put into many of these cars, and will stand my ground...if ya can't afford the real thing, maybe a personalized Batmobile is the way to go. Some of these cars look like they had some serious time put into them.

I agree with Lincoln, at least these people tried to have their dream car.
Maybe someday they'll all be nearly as good as some of you.

I think these hombuilts are great, I love how guys (I doubt a girl has ever done anything like this!) just go to town and have fun making their own creation! I think I would like to start from scratch on my own design batmobile when my kids stop taking all my extra cash!

n8,
Mark Shields' batmobile reference is another inside joke here.

He posted one and only comment long time ago after Tim called his car ugliest thing he has ever seen.

RE: Uglier than Mark Shield's Batmobile

I remember when Mark's vette was here in California, I saw it a lot up in Palos Verdes near my church, and then tracked the owner down to get him to come to my son's party, but he was over booked that weekend. He would do 2-4 parties a day at $500 a pop! (for car and batman, more for catwoman to come along)
Then Mark bought it.
Never did get the story of the original builder though. I am sure he would have some interesting stories!
So maybe Mark s will come back!
(see waht I did there? huh? Punny.)

RE: Uglier than Mark Shields Batmobile

If I attempt to build a Batmobile it would probably turn out so bad I would see about getting the "Tumbler" to come and "Drive Over it" to put it out of its misery...

Good job on your build ups!
