'89 Batmobile bed

Might as well start a new topic...

I was thinking about this bed and actually it wouldn't be any easier really, becasue it wouldn't need any real modification. It already has a natural opening and a built in headboard for lights, radio, speakers, etc. I think it could be cool.

RE: '89 Batmobile bed

I was thinking of something like this the other day. I was looking through a Sears catalog and saw a car bed for kids. I remember when I was that age when I wanted one and I said to myself, "Hey, why not a grown up car bed using a real car?!" lol. Would look probably even better in a bachelor's pad. I like your idea.

I think it'd be really cool, but it would take up your entire bedroom. Maybe an almost full scale would be more practical. How would you get the full scale one in through the doors?

How about a regular bed with just a cocoon? Then you'd never have to make your bed...

sounds like some people want a reason to use their Batman sheets.

Tim, sounds like a cool idea. could be as easy as plywood profiles painted black all the way to detailed sculpting with nose cone footboard, detailed sides with drawers and the rear being a desk area.

flat plywood batmobile beds are not cool, it must be nurtured and lovingly crafted to detail. There should be a flatscreen tv built into the design, a sound system too. The turbine should extend with a sneaker drawer. The side mechanics should slide up to reveal storage cupboards. The dvd/cd player could go inside the air intakes in a small alcove and the other intake could be a mini fridge.

A little song, a little dance..... Batman's head on a lance.

ha. I like that sneaker idea. I was thinking it would be cool if when the canopy closed the bed mattress actually lowered to the ground. Then you'd have a lot more room, and it'd be more like a little cave.

And the flatscreen could slide up from the hood so you can watch tv in bed.

RE: '89 Batmobile bed

i think it was a 355. flatscreen rose from the foot. trunk, engine bay rather, had shelves for her kicks, whips or whatever they were calling sneakers that week. and somehow i thing it was a full or queen size matress. I loked on the MTV site, it should be episode 301, but I only see pics of bathrooms and refridgerators!

-edit Dang spend too much time looking for pics and I end up posting late!

That is the same cut-out but not my room. Someone is trying real hard to compensate for the yellow walls and curtains.

Tons of Superhero stuff. Any bets as to who wants the room like that, the Kid or the DAD? My money is on the DAD.

Here's a better bed. The guy also sells 70 Dodge Challenger beds and is working on a General Lee.
