RE: Dash layout

Nope Thomas has not been in it yet. His mom would kill me. I think I will have to repaint the center panels flat black to match the other panels. I used a semi-gloss black but it still seems to shinney. Oh and hey thanks for the compliments.

Nitro, Kevin is right lets see some pix......

RE: Dash layout

Nitro, how about sharing your dash pattern and the patern for the panels you made?

RE: Dash layout

I heard a rumor that Nitro doesn't share anything, not even pictures or his car.

Jack's dash looks better than that of Kevin's.

RE: Dash layout

Not really, I based it on Kevin's pattern that he sent to me several months ago. I did have to make a few alteration. From what I hear Nitro has a pattern that he traced right of the real car. I'm not opposed to doing a thrid dash....

RE: Dash layout

I think he traced the Tallahassee car when we were up there. I could be wrong though?

Nitro clear it up for us...

RE: Dash layout

The dash I measured was from Rosco Il, It also is an Orburg car but i think this car may have been a stunt movie car. It has the flip flop paint but has wrong gauges and hubs but correct tires and rims.

RE: Dash layout

That was dash 1.0 I am now on dash 2.0. If I get the pattern from Nitro I may be on 3.0 before too long. I think Kevin also has a couple of extras laying around.

RE: Dash layout

I think I went through 4 before I got it right. The closest I have seen is the two PDF files that DH had on the board. I burned them to acetate and put them on the overhead projector and enlarged then until you get the correct size then draw it on card board the cut it out of sheet metal and bend to shape.

Maybe DH can post them again for us?

And poof it is as simple as that....

RE: Dash layout

They're in blueprints section.

You can thank Tim Wylie for hosting those blueprints for the longest time before I opened this one.

RE: Dash layout

How accurate is the AMT dash? I haven't really studied it. I would guess the 1:18 dash is also correct. I am referring to the shape, not the instrument panels.

RE: Dash layout

When I was laying out the panels on my dash I noticed that this panel looked a lot like the original. It because they are both UHF/HF tuner panels but still it was pretty cool that Lee included it.
