'89 Batmobile side mechanics

Someone has got to be able to find this or have some idea what this part is.

Man, that hi-res image is annoying. It's just detailed enough to let you think you can read something, but just fuzzy enough that you can't. Can anyone make out the writing on the pipe with the glare?

I sharpened the photo but I don't know that it helps much.

I can read the word INLET on the valve.

I think it says OUTLET. Either way something obviously flows through it.

If only Dave had taken one more picture from a little more to the left. The Holy Grail of Batmobile fans everywhere could be ours.... Still without Dave we would have never seen that awesome picture or any of the others.

Oh Dave did send a few new pictures. Here is one of them.

Yeah not the Batmobile, but still a nice picture. Thanks Dave....

RE: '89 Batmobile side mechanics

You guys must do your side pieces like that. I could sculpt some of those parts, some could be made from bent tubing. bob and I could make that foundry casted part look just like that. Let us know if you guys are interested. Would hate to see anyone settle for some hokey plastic looking stuff. This is one of the most important parts of the car, I think.

Most of us have the casted pars from the car. It would be nice to have the real peices or something closer than what we have.

Yea; me too.... we can give you all the measurments you will need.

RE: '89 Batmobile side mechanics

Got a big big question: roughly how many copies or pairs of these would be needed to fulful the 89 community. i.e. how much of a demand would there be? a.k.a. we would to see numbers in the 20 to 30 range, or better.

RE: '89 Batmobile side mechanics

Probably closer to 6 sets to start with. Like you said some of the parts could be gotten like the V-Band Clamps and the hardware. My original idea was to have someone mill the tubular shapes on a lathe. Didn't get very far though. I was trying to figure out a way of making some pieces fit both the left and the right. Again, didn't get very far.

I would say the center block is a metering body. Just a bunch of ports and passages and probably springs and check valves.
