Dang you guys and your shorthand. I kept trying to read this title as "e" so special. Spanish. Anyway, maybe because it's in a round tube. That's pretty impressive.

The paint is different, the rims are different, and the bottom is about 50% larger than the top on.

Derailment time!

This would make a kool batmobile.

It's limited edition - only 3000 made - which in marketing makes it "special." All they did was to crome the side mechanics, wheels and engine. It looks pretty gay IMHO. I'd stick with the original from 2003. This is basically like when marketers take a DVD and put it out as widescreen, fullcreen, and then do a special edition with commentary, and then repackage it again as a set with films 1, 2 and 3 but leave the commentaries out. They want to repackage the same old thing to make you buy it more than once.

It looks to me that the only difference is the paint job. The "Special Edition" is glossy and the side intakes are cromed. Wrong, wrong, wrong... I think I know what they mean by "special" now.

Yea thats wot I thought. I don't like the gloss finish. It's pants. I think i'll just order the original. My camoflague tumbler is in a tube and thats the only reason i was gonna get the special edition 1.

Well, my new bossman is an Irish...which would explain his chronic drinking.

Ebay is the best place. Some of the larger toy stores have them. Sharper image has the original.

RE: Y so special??

Thank's buddy. I thought some of these guys would have access to a toy shop. In saying that, I couldn't find an 89 in any of the shops in New York last week. This includes Toymaster, FAO Shwarts, or any of the little shops around. Help

For special, read S***t redressed from the same old product. Dave did the business with the 1:18th when it came out first. Cheers Dave.

I bet he doesn't see a penny for the same model painted differently.

Paint your own, or part with more money for a "Special Limited edition" of HOW MANY? Paint your own, then its a LIMITED EDITION of ONE.

For God sake!!! doesn't WB make enough cash from the franchise?

RE: Y so special??

The one thing we can look forward to 2006 for is Superman. Maybe he'll take some of the heat off of Batman, who has argueably, been WB's number 1 product whore since 1989. (Well, except for Harry Potter maybe)
