Rosecrans Batmobile

I saw this tonight and wanna see more of it but cant find anything ... Do you guys have any pics of it ?

Here is what I found about it...

In February 1937 Dr. Stephen Rosecrans enlisted the help of his younger brother Robert to help design and build a car that would "go like a bat out of Hell." The brothers set up a work room in the back of the family bakery on Point Loma that the two had recently inherited.

They started with a 24 cylinder, 1,000 horsepower motor out of a wrecked PB-M Seaplane that Stephen had purchased from the Navy. Much of the body of the car was fabricated from the plane's aluminum pontoons. Instruments and seats were also salvaged and used in the car. Although the car was driven on the road only once, yet still holds the unofficial San Diego speed record from Gwen's Caf in Point Loma to Chez Caf in La Jolla. The car was however extensively raced at the San Diego Auto-Drome on Harbor Drive. The car was destroyed in a fiery crash November 2, 1939. Dr. Rosecrans would later ghost-write a series of Batman stories for DC Comics.

Man I'd love a spin in that. I drive my brothers 710bhp Skyline and it frighteningly quick. That 1000bhp Batmobile would have been a blast.

That's from the SanDiego Historical Society, correct? I'm only seen one other grainy pic of the car on the net. Too bad it was destroyed in a fire.

Bruce Timm took a LOT of inspiration from the old roadsters like the one you have partially pictured there.

I talked to a guy whos running or working for the SanDiego Historical Society. They are still working on getting more info about Dr.Rosecrans and may have more pictures in storage along with other information. He emailed me back almost 5 min after I emailed him and he told me that they will keep in touch with me about the car and any information they find on Rosecrans and the car.
