Kinda a cool email

I sent a email a while back to Trix and got this in return ....

Ours was used for the jump scenes in the movie. The one's we did are
gasoline powered. They end up in theme parks to be used in shows.

Subject: Tumbler build

Hi There ,
I was wondering about the Tumbler build you guys did ?
Could you tell me if these are the actual movie cars or were they made for
the WB lot ? Also did they have 350's in them or electric power ?

Thanks for any info.

Dale

I thought the trix ones were the show cars with the messed up front end. Were they really used at all in the movie? Can someone check this on the dvd?

Wow, that doesn't make sence. Watch the Batman Begins SE DVD. It doesn't look at all like the car they built for the stunt show that I've seen. In the DVD, you see the car Corbould being built for the jump shots, and them jumping it in England, Trix is in N.J.USA?. The car in the stunt show has gull wing doors, front axel, looks totally different. Slap me if I'm wrong, but I think somethings amiss here.

If that came from Trix, then I think someone's getting tired of answering emails about the Tumbler and they are having a little fun with you.

RE: Kinda a cool email

So does someone here know for a 110% fact that trix didnt make the cars they jumped or are you just guessing ?
Because I have Trixx saying they did make the jumped cars and people on here saying they didnt.
I never even asked them about the jumped cars they just said that in the email.

The car they built is jumped at the six-flaggs shows. They were still building it after Batman Begins had finished principal photography.

I emailed them about the build shortly before the film was released and they were still working on it then.

RE: Kinda a cool email

But do you know for a fact they didnt build the jump cars ? I just think its odd they would lie about it ... along with it being such a short email ...even more so if they were sick or responding to emails why add to the reply

Well, I haven't witnessed anything first hand, so no. According to the DVD however, they were built in England or by an English company. I'd have to watch the DVD again now to remember all of the details.

RE: Kinda a cool email

talk about grasping the straw dale.
we already had a thread about special effects used in Batman Begins and they showed a miniature and a cg generated tumbler for the jump sequence. also it's been mentioned many times that Nolan doesn't like cg and wanted the car to jump for real. but they did resort to miniature/cg for the rooftop jump sequence.

Here is my correspondance with Trix:

I assume by now you've been long finished with the Stunt Tumbler. I'm just curious if the vehicle in the attached pictures is the one you guys did?

TRIX
March 11, 2005

No, that's not ours. That appears to be one built in England.
Ours hasn't been released yet.
Once it is, we'll be adding it to our website.

TIM
March 11, 2005

Thanks for getting back to me. I assume yours won't be used in Begins then, since they are already in post-production. Is yours going to be used in future films? If not what will it be used for. I can't wait to see it on your site.

TRIX
March 15, 2005

I had to check to see what we were allowed to tell people - it's all 'secret' for now.
The one we are making is to be used for stunts during the premier of the movie and will perhaps be going on tour.
We'll be posting a full diary of the build on the site once we're approved to release the photo's.

Any updates on the Tumbler build?

TRIX

It's almost done, but we can't release any photo's yet.
Soon!

Someone is feeding you crap about a Trix built film used car.
