RE: Grills

Very nice. And in just 3 more years we will both be done. Of course Rusty will have completed 3 of each of the Batmobiles by then.

RE: Grills

When I pull my molds they will come with grills already in the body. So no one has to deal with this install project.

RE: Grills

What are you going to do about the slot around the outside edge? Oh I'm just going to rivet mine onto the car.

RE: Grills

They could be molded in, although I think it would make for a better kit if they were separate pieces.

RE: Grills

It's hard to tell in the photos, I struck a line around the grills to add the line shown in the real car.

RE: Grills

Most people would rather not mold them in, lots of work trimming them out.

RE: Grills

That's what I mean. I thought you were saying you were going to mold them in. I was saying that it would be better if they were seperate pieces.

Kevin I don't see it. How will you cut it out?

RE: Grills

When I cut the openings I made them 1/8" larger than the grills. I cut a lip in the fiberglass to hold them in place. I cut the depth about 1/16" deeper than the thickness of the grills, to accommodate the bonding compound. I will clean out the surrounding area with a Dremil.
