RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

Hey Mark, glad to see you on the board. Thanks for the fiberglass info. Kory said you are going to do an 89 build log like you did on the 66 car. That's great news. I found your 66 build logs very useful and helpful, thanks. I wish more builder would share the "How to" side of the build. I guess because of the business aspect people consider "The Build" process to be a trade secret. Sure that make since, sort of reminds be of the old Cola Wars. However, some people like me just can't afford a Turn Key car and have to build their dream car for themselves. And some just want the challenge; I guess I fall in to bother categories. Also, I look forward to your new "Gotham Garage" coming online. If you get some time post a few pictures of you 89 kit. See ya. And hey welcome to the board.

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

I'm confused about the wheels being mounted wrong. I though we were talking about the tread pattern on the tires.

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

Hey Jack, what fiberglass info?

 From: Tim | Posted: 5/22/2005 9:08:59 AM |

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

Yeah, I thought so too. I thought that it was pointed out that one of the tires were mounted the wrong way. (these should only rotate one direction) The tires above are both mounted the same way so they are correct. This is only one of the cars, so maybe others are wrong.

Everyone keep an eye out for photos that show the front tires enough to see the tread pattern.

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

Well it seems that all of the fiberglass Gurus all pretty much have the same idea. Clean the area, rough up the surface and add new mat and use ployester resin (boat resin). Pretty much what we learned by watching all of those damn DVDs. But not it has been confirmed by the experts. Now I just have to do it. Want to help? Hee hee

So the title of this thread is "Dullam Tumbler Replica" so lets see some updates.

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

The tread pattern is correct running that direction. It seems that Hoosier has designed lots of tires where the outside pattern is different from the other side. On most cars you would notice it because the tires are covered. Here's a pictures.

Bob, what style of Hoosiers are you using? I couldn't find the exact pattern on the Hoosier website.

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

I thought they were going to post daily progress photos?? Now it's been a full week and not one photo? You'd think they would at least give an update to what the problem is... I know they're not obligated to post photos, of course, but when they tell a group of people they will and then don't it's just dissapointing...

RE: Dullam Tumbler Replica

I'm sure we'll start seeing more soon enough. He's working very hard right now and just isn't spending much time on the computer. He's had some delays in getting parts in, but he says he should have the windshield areas up by weeks end. He's probably already further than I am on mine...
