I've been building my 66 for almost 6 years. Two steps forward, one step back as I had no experience in building such a large scratch built project from a very old Currie shell. I made it a much larger project by dropping the original Lincoln engine and putting in a small block Chevy engine. This then required the upgrade to rack type steering and air lift suspension. I am looking to ask this great board for help in consideration for my next project, an 89 or tumbler build. I would certainly appreciate any input those with experience on one or the other for your input.

I am trying to attach pics of my build. If not successful, I'll try another method.

Thanks to all for your help in getting to the paint portion of my 66 build.

You'll probably get more help and response from 1966 batmobile board.

Anyway, you can use Internet Explorer to post pictures directly or use attachments to post pictures in FireFox or Chrome.

Welcome.

You might want to contact Bob Johnson in Tampa, he has built two 66 bats in a short period of time. Contact me off board if you need his info.

Months later, the painted car (sans much interior) made to as the prom vehicle for my son, a senior in high school. Since then the finish punch list is almost complete. A friend put together a little video to show off the car.

Still doesn't show the automatic chain cutter blade in nose, nor many other features more subtle to discuss. Thanks to all on this board and the 1966 board for their help and inspiration with all the great builds seen on this board. Now onto the 89 build ( although a tumbler would be cool too, need the dimentions of the inner skeleton and steering parts?). Perhaps it will take less than the seven years I put into this build.
