ya I know what your saying...I started out with a frame also, but as time went by (about 2 hrs) I realised that It was the out side that really mattered, so instead of working from the inside out ...were ,if I screwed up the dementions then that would propegate to the outside ...so I decided to go from the outside in....well kind of more or less it was a factor of 60% out to in, 40% in to out...I wanted to make sure that I could fit in the thing. Even as it is now ,its a tight fit. but any ways I just bought some axle sprockets, steering wheel, and a disc break caliper off of ebay last night, should be here by next wed. hopefully. Then I'll start to put the axle together. I was looking at putting a 520 size chain on it (most commonlly found on ATV's and motor cross bikes) but I couldnt find the right stuff so I decided to go with a two chain #41 setup (two axle sprockets 54tooth and two sprockets 10tooth on the jackshaft) this will give me a 1/5.4 ratio, the jackshaft will be set up with a Comet 40 series centrifical clutch, the motor 13HP. so far I have it estimated at cost $2,300 and that is without painting it.

Hey T-man the T-kart is coming along great. I got a question about that Solidworks program, can it be used to send information to a CNC machine?

yes... I've heard that it can with the right add ons...but I dont know how to do it my self, I do know that you could design the panels and then save (export) as a dxf. or dwg. file and then import them into say PlasmaCam and have it translated into a pcm. file were the drawing would be vectored and then it could be cut (flat paturn) out on a plasma table. Solid Works is an awesome program if you get a chance go to youtube and look at some of the video's on there. One thing that I think is cool with this program is that you can build a part (say a motor mount) figure in all the mounting and bolt paturn placement and then do a stress test on it ..the program will analise the geometry and then show you an animation of the part flexing under the stress that this part will be under. So it can show you where the weak points are or where its going to break before you ever decide to build the prototype...cool ha BUT the standered program itself (what I have) (thats not even up to date 2004) is a $3,999 thing...no I didnt buy it some one gave it to me to play around with, and let me tell you its better then MS Paint.. What is the extention on sketch up... also if your looking into a better 3d software Ive heard that Adobe now has a program thats about $400 It might be cheeper than that by now (its been out for a few years)

I'm not sure what you mean by extension for SketchUp, sorry I have Google SketchUp 7, and let me tell you, it cannot do HALF the stuff you said that the program you have can do. $4k!, yeah i cant afford that Heck thats about as much money as i've sunk into my Camaro getting it running so far! lol It IS cool looking tho
