Hey guys!
I was researching building an 89/92 Batmobile but the Tumbler has really grown on me!
Having built two aluminum R2-D2s, I've been a bit spoiled having a large club with some detailed blueprints/drawings for reference.
I searched around the forum and figure I either missed it or just needed to ask!
I've read some impressive builds and just not entirely sure where to start!
Thanks for your info!
Paul

Hey LePaul, yeah there's not a lot of free sharing of the Tumbler blueprint because there is so much research involved. Guys are building them off of pictures and even toy Tumblers from Walmart.( like me) Tons of pics here and on flicker then there's a lot of engineering to figure out. Axleless front end, backward mounted 350 engine with three driveshafts and a v-drive. You just have to read through a lot of stuff and ask a lot of questions. The guys here are really good but you have to warm up to them first before you get a lot of info. The information just took too long to attain. Heres a pic of my build the street-legal Tribute Rumbler. BWD....Mahalo

Hey LePaul, I've always loved the R2D2. Just too many projects in front of me. I have a lot of info on the Tribute Rumbler buld in the members only section. There's a ton of imformation on this site and a lot of helpful members. You just got to ease into information aquiring thing. Sharing is a good thing. Just remember many of us have been here a loooonnnng time. And of course we see people come and go. You've got the skill set needed just looking at you R2D2. I always suggest to new members to build it on paper too. Take your budget and double it and take your time line and triple it. If it still makes sense welcome. I can tell you when your driving your replica Tumbler around town its almost better than sex. lol Welcome....BWD devil is in the details....

Big wave dave is right. The tumbler is incredibly complex due largely to all of its angles. Getting blueprints for the tumbler will cost you one of two things time or money and in most cases both. I have spent countless hours working on my 3d tumbler and have also spent just as many hours redoing many parts of the vehicle. The tumbler is hard to replicate especially if you don't have access to one to take pictures like some people on here have. If you plan on building your own this site has a great refrence area. I do believe Shaggy was working on selling the blueprints of his tumbler but i'm not sure if he has it finished yet.
