Well, besides working my ass off and enjoying the married life, I have been busy for the past 2 years, working on this massively cool software project. This application will be available soon for MySpace, followed by Facebook and other social networking sites. Basically, it allows the user (for free) to add a customizable t-shirt store to their profile, and then use our product lab to create their own products (with their own unique markup for profit) and sell them. We have been "close" for quite some time, but now we are CLOSE!

PS - After I finally launch this project, I will have a lot more time and resources to get back to the fun stuff, like the business of building Batmobiles. For now, however, gotta work work work!

FINALLY!!!! After so many months, and so many setbacks, we went live with version 1.0, yesterday! If you have a MySpace account, and are interested in trying out our FREE t-shirt design software (it lets you put a customizable t-shirt store, directly on your profile), go over to http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=432366534 .

Here is the full blurb we posted on the web:

The AP Product Labs software is finally available for use!!!

We are incredibly pleased to announce, after much buildup and anticipation, that we finally completed work on the new AP Product Labs software, that we have been working on for almost two years. After countless setbacks, we finally managed to pull together a productive team, including our lead developer, Brett Buckland (without whom, none of this would have been possible). Fast forward through all the hard work, frustrations and successes, we received notification from MySpace that our application had been accepted to the Apps Gallery, exactly 15 months and 1 day from our originally scheduled "launch date".

So, for those of you who are unfamiliar with what we have been working on, let me give you the Readers Digest version:

The AP Product Labs (also referred to as the APPL platform) is a free software app that you can install on your MySpace page through the MySpace Apps Gallery (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=432366534). This application automatically places a customizable store on your profile page, which you can then use to design custom products, add a desired markup amount, and then sell for retail on your MySpace profile. Since this is only our soft launch, and we are easing into some of the features we have developed, you will notice that the product options (and product print locations) will be greatly limited; right now, we are only letting you design some light colored t-shirts, with front and / or back print locations. In the next few weeks, we will be rolling out a wide array of product options, all of which will be fully customizable. Upload your own images, and preview them on the products! Add text! Once you add the item to your store, anyone who visits your MySpace page can view and purchase the items; from there, Archangel Printing will handle all of the production, manufacturing and shipping of your items to the end customer, all in your name! As you sell your items, you will see your profit build in your account; you can then request a check for the money you have earned!!

We have also added some neat features, that will make our application very useful to anybody who is trying to start a successful clothing line; by making your custom designed items "shareable", anybody who purchases your item will have the option of "sharing" it in their store. What does this mean? If somebody likes your design enough to purchase it, then it stands to reason that they might also like to offer it to their friends and family (for a cut of the profit), as well. Once they have purchased your custom item, and added it to their own custom store, the person sharing the item would then share 50% of your markup, each time they sell that item from their store! Just like in the retail industry; if you are trying to sell your own clothing line, you don't do it from your own store, alone! Instead, you try to get your designs into popular stores, and you allow the resellers to make a profit from your designs, allowing you to focus on creating more custom items! Multiply your selling power as more and more people purchase your items, and decide to place them in their stores; your custom designs could literally be in thousands of individual stores, across the internet, and you would make half of your markup ANY TIME those items are sold, ANYWHERE!

We will be rolling out lots of great features and additional products in the near future, so get on board early and start designing your initial items! There is NO cost to use the app, so there is no risk at any time. Design shirts for yourself, and purchase them at wholesale prices! If you have been waiting for the app to launch for the last two years, or you are just hearing about it now, CHECK IT OUT!

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=432366534

Its fun, its easy, and you can make it blend into your profile pretty well. We will be adding LOTS more customization features, soon! Ok, now for the DISCLAIMER: you can't just download pics from the web and sell them on shirts. Remember that the same copyright laws apply on the web, as they do in the real world. However, there are lots of rules for specific "parody" designs, which are more than acceptable, provided they are your own custom work. Oh, and I am sure we will be rooting out the last few quirks in the system, over the next few days... We will be re-launching the Community Forums in the next few days, on the new APPL server; I'll keep you all informed!

Until then, INSTALL THE SOFTWARE! In only takes a second, and its way more useful than "Mobsters" or "Buy Your Friends"........ We both know you've got a few minutes to spare.

Unfortunately, almost anything Bat-related.... Oh, and sleep related, fun related and / or relaxing.

But after all that, I can definitely say that it has been worth every minute of it, and things are finally going to start heating back up! When I checked earlier today, we already had 56 users, and we only went live on Monday evening.... I'm holding off on the aggressive marketing campaign, until I finish all the documentation, FAQ, user guide, etc, as well as squash a few remaining annoyances in the platform; after that, the gloves come off.

Justin that is so cool and sounds like your not only making yourself successful but your users have that opportunity to grow with you too.

Not many people know this but my Batmobile almost made me a millionair.I was really the first pearson after buying my 89 body and having parts made and ordering parts from all over the world led me to the phrase Tapped Out, very close to the phrasing of the clothing line TAP OUT and way before that kid came up with it .If Only.

That is one of my basic principles in business, that I've picked up over the years.... You get more back when you help other people achieve their own dreams and goals; the best way I could think to connect my printing abilities with all the potential customers in the world, was to put free tools in everybody's hands, and then tell them to be creative and make some money. Its not that our users will grow with us... It is more like we will grow with our users!

Hey Justin, that's a great idea and philosophy. In sales we have a similar saying it goes.

.....You can get everything you want in life if you help others get what they want.....

That's a good philosophy. I hope you will have some time to start your 89. I looking forward to those build pics......Best of luck.....BWD
