Hey there's a show on the SPEED channel called: KIT an Autobody Experience

http://www.speedtv.com/programs/kit-an-autobody-experience/

http://www.kittvonline.com/

It shows a lot of the little tricks that would probably help most with their Bat builds.  Simple things like using Bondo to hold parts together while you glass the seems, using self tapping screws, etc.  The basics.

These type shows come and go pretty often so no idea how long it will be on the air.

I've owned 2 kit cars so far, and they have both been very enjoyable to drive. I've even been tempted to build my own, but haven't taken the plunge as of yet. I would definitely suggest two primary requirements for anyone considering such an undertaking:

1 - Space

This thing is going to take up 2-5 times as much space during your build as it will once it's finished. So if you're considering starting your project in one bay of a two bay garage, consider the hardships you'll face down the road. If at all possible, find a space where you'll have plenty of space to spread out and work, AND have it as long as you'll need it.

2 - Time

Again, you may spend 10 times the amount of time building this beast as you will actually getting to drive it. So don't lose focus or drive along the way. I made modifications to my cars over the years as each project which I thought should take a day ended up taking a week or more. And you don't want to rush anything. Never sacrifice time for quality.

Just my $.02. Now I'm off to find some space and time.
