Hi everyone.

I am new to the site.

I have always loved the 89 Batmobile and have only just started reading about specs etc.

Never realised people were doing replicas

Having had a quick look at some of the replicas on this site i am impressed

Would be great having a Batmobile on the road over here but from what i can gather most of the kits etc are over in the states
I will shortly be building another Rover V8 for myself but after that i am tempted to look into building a 89 Batmobile.

A few questions i would like to ask about the 89 car.
I have had a read around but cant seem to find answers to these questions.
Please dont discard my questions as another annoying newbie,
i have a genuine and growing interest in this car and cars in general.

I noticed in specs that 0-60 is said to be 3.7 secs.

Was this ever tested??

Does it have cross ply tyres on it??
Anyone know the width of them??

Also,it had a V8?? Any specs on this??

Does anyone know where the car now is??
I did find somewhere that its said to be in a museum and was bought for around $180K??

Sorry for all the questions
Please take the time to answer if you can.

Thanks in advance,
Rich.

Rich, welcome to the board.  Typically we tell all new folks to take the time to read all of the old post and threads.  You'll learn a lot, probably more than you want to know.  So before someone jumps you for not taking the time to read.  Which if you did you would gain a lot more respect from the guys here.  We get a lot of new guys here who ask a ton of questions and expect us to spend our time answering them but won't spend any of their time reading.

I noticed in specs that 0-60 is said to be 3.7 secs.  Probably just numbers made up by WB.

Was this ever tested??  Who knows?  Rusty try yours...

Does it have cross ply tyres on it??  The original car had Bias Ply tires made by Mickey Thompson.

Anyone know the width of them??  Heck I always forget this one.  The fronts were Indy Profile L60-15 and the Rear Sportsmen 33x21.50-15LY

Also,it had a V8?? Any specs on this??
Does anyone know where the car now is??  WB storage, lots of promotion car in museum around the world.

I did find somewhere that its said to be in a museum and was bought for around $180K??  Yep.

Now start reading.  Oh there are a couple of folks here from your area.  Good luck and have fun.   Welcome to CLTC!!

Sounds like fun,
There is no feeling quite like building a special car or bike.
I cant think of anything more fulfilling than completing a special.

Or anything as fun or demanding as building it
