Greetings.

I've been lurking for awhile and have been planning on building a working 1:2 scale Tumbler. I already own an H1, and though a fullscale Tumbler would be nice, I have to be sure I can do it in 1:2 scale first.

I've seen Bob's site on his full scale project of the Tumbler, and though I'm across the "Pond", I hope to be able to post my progress as well, and maybe discuss some of the spec issues that are bound to come up with anyone interested.

At 1:2 scale a single seat will fit, and a person will barely fit in the frame. I may have to tweak sitting positions and whatnot.

I was able to purchase the steel tubing for the frame, but a friend just got in a major accident so I was tied up with that all weekend. Thanks for the link too.

The thread on the scratch built Tumbler that Kevin started got me thinking.

I was going to build the 1:2 scale just as a proof of concept, but would there be demand for this size tumbler from the community? I mean, you would just barely be able to fit inside, and it wouldn't be street legal, but you could say to anyone you meet "you should see my other car."

What would u consider the value of such a small scale project vehicle?

would anyone be interested in a collaberation? The body panels are the only parts that I worry about fabricating. I mean, the prototype skin would be of cardboard to ensure proper proportions and fit, but the "real" cold rolled steel sheet metal pieces seem very complex, even when broken down into small panels. Anyone have experience with this type of work?

If anyone else has attempted this small project, do jump in and tell me what problems you ran into or why you quit the project. Thanks.
