| I think you can pretty much build whatever you want to for yourself. Selling them is a different story, but that would be true for any company with any product.

I'm sure Mattel and WB couldn't care less if I went out to my workshop and made my own 1/18th Batmobile. However, if I started selling them on eBay, I'm sure they would have a thing or two to say about it.

| My understanding is that they are even preparing to go after the guy selling the r/c light-up 1989 car. It's all about money and if you're not making any, they don't care. If you are, they feel it's coming right out of their pocket. I'm talking Mattel and WB here.

I always check ebay and wait for some low bids on the light up batmobile.
BTW, the dream halloween batmobile seem to only go for 50 to 75 nowadays. It used to go much as 175 when it first came out.

Usually after the collectors get their fill, the prices will drop on most Hot Wheels. It's only many years later that the prices start slowly crawling back up. Again, rarity determines that.
The Dream Halloween cars are usually high right around the time of the event (fall), and lowest around spring.
