What happens to the turbine engine if the wheel is squished in so close to the engine like that?
Also, is it possible for the car to make a turn if the wheels were aligned like that?

It's called movie magic. The vehicle was very unstable in this configuration; it had to pulled by a cable across the sound stage for the shot.

Yeah, and why arent the spare wheels visible any other tyme during the film(s)? This version wasn't very well thought out. It's only purpose was to squeeze between 2 buildings which were built into the middle of the street. WTF!? Who builds a street that runs into a building? Sorry, I know this isn't a rant and rave forum, but I had to input my 2 cents worth whyle the topic of the batmissile was up. It looks kool though.

I don't think those wheels are spare wheels.
The existing wheels are retracted to inline position.
