Here's a picture of that Batmobile. Tim and I had wondered what that was on the gun doors. Now we know. Another great job DH. keep them coming.

RE: OMG!!!! The Carmel Batmobile!!!!

Found this on the Net. Could it be that's Timb?

I was, uh, pleased to see that the guy who drives the batmobile had finally graduated from his black, winged, Opel GT to a real Batman (1989) replica batmobile. OK, I don't know for sure that it was the same guy but I'd be willing to bet that it was.

RE: OMG!!!! The Carmel Batmobile!!!!

Dinner was at the Napoli in Carmel which is always
a bistro treat. All evening there was a crowd around
the front door of the restaurant as a true Batmobile
was parked out front. The owner and builder said he
was doing this for a hobby and just got carried away.

Even More:
We were a little confused about them and ended up near the 3rd stage when we were on the 2nd. We did see the Batmobile parked on the street though, maybe he lives in Carmel!

And another:
The digital camera has a few drawbacks. It has a battery saver mode which kicks in very quickly to preserve the charge if it is accidentally turned on in the bag or between shots; however it takes a significant amount of time to go from black screen to ready mode. This is why I missed getting a picture of the Batmobile, which we saw three times in Carmel by the Sea. It would go something like this: Holey Moley, look, it’s the Batmobile. Quickly dig out the camera, aim it in the right direction… and wait for it to wake up. By the time the camera recovered from its sleep mode, the Batmobile had disappeared into the crowded streets. This was not a high point of the trip, but it did generate lots of conversation among our fellow pedestrians.

RE: OMG!!!! The Carmel Batmobile!!!!

The builder of that car explained to me how the mirrors popped out... he was originally planning on doing something similar to Dan's car. I do not know what the current plan is. Interestingly enough, Tim B. was mentioned by the builder, although not by name. The builder told me that the owner of the car was "the same guy who has that Opel GT replica"... I questioned Tim B about it, but he denies ownership of it.

That is an excelent idea for the side view mirrors. Can you still install guns if the mirrors are in place? Looks like their having a great time running around town!!

Lots of good Ideas here guys even the rubber skirt under the car looks great. When that body is setting at ride height looks pretty goofy between the ground and body. Very simple solution and cheap.Wonder how something like that would work in wheel wells. I think the rear tires could be brought out about 2 in with billit aluminum spacers sold on E-bay pretty cheap. Jack what kind of material did you go with to level out your gun doors? They Look perfect. once again you amaze me.

If you make the mirror fold they never even get close to the guns.

RE: OMG!!!! The Carmel Batmobile!!!!

Looks like the side view mirrors offer a great view of the rear fender. I'd be indered in seeing what the driver can actually see in them.
