Batmobile Blueprints

Are the PDF Bluprints for the batmobile, all to scale, and to scale to on another?
In order for me to make my skeleton for the body i want to be able to print the top and side view out and be able to draw lines through it were my boards will be for an easier way of profiling them.

Thanks all
BVT

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

I think few people have commented before that the measurements are off.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

the measurements were taken from an actual car, so there is definitely a possibility that there were measuring errors between the different views.

Some measurements are dead on and others are slightly off. There are a lot of measurements that arn't even listed that you will most definatly need. All in all the prints are as close as I have seen to date. You could save your self-a lot of time, money and grief if you could wait till the bodies are offered.

If you had access to autocad, you could import the drawings, or use a program to convert them to the right file type first. But in autocad you should be able to take any measurements you want from the drawings.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

From what I having studied blueprints of other things it is quite often that they do not give all the measurements this is because things get cludered or some reason I don't know. The point is there is enough measuments given that you have to figure out the missing measurements using the ones they give. I have had drawings were i had to use trig to figure out angles and lengths of certain boards.

According to the scale on the bottom, each drawing is done to scale to itself.
What i am wondering is if each drawing is done to scale (using the same scale) as/to eachother.

Any thought to be off measurments can be taken from the hotwheels diecast model, to get a rough estimate if it is close to correct if it is way off, I hope nobody is expecting to make a replica that replicates down to the very inch being correct.

At the current moment all that we all have is these blueprints and the hotwheel cars. We just have to make the most of the two.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

Ok, about six months ago I was working with the PDF file blueprints. Technically all the blueprints are supposed to use the same scale, and most of them do hold up to this scale. Then I found discrepancies. I thought at first that the problem could be that they used a different scale from each other, but that wasn't the case. Ultimately what happened was that there was a mis measurement on several of the pictures. None of them really corresponded, but they give a great idea of how to build the autobody. You would have to make the numbers ft, which is ok if you want a fairly precise car, but if you're wanting accuracy you may want to use the AMT model Batmobile to make it all work. The creator of the blueprints e-mailed me a short time later, telling me he would make corrections, but I've yet to hear from him.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

The measurements were taken off of a full size vehicle. the discrepencies most likely come from putting them into autocad rather than what was measured. If you've used autocad then you are aware that making things like arcs between points (which the batmobile is full of) is an approximate science. I would definitely consult something else as well and take all measurements from any set of blueprints with a grain of salt.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

I would also like to be able to get a PDF or some other file of the blueprints so I can make my own life-size model.
Please e-mail on any info about said files.

RE: Batmobile Blueprints

They're all in the blueprints section of this site.
