RE: Batmobile Forever Question

I have a promotional magazine buried away at my house somewhere that explains the non-moving B:Forever rims. It was explained, I believe, as some sort of counter-gearing mechanism which effectively reveresed the trans-axle motion for the outer hub. Thus, the batsymbol hub/rim was not a spinning or weighted or a magnetized rim, it was spinning at the same speed as the tire, all of the time. It just appears to be unmoving because its rotation is exaclty inverted to the speed of the wheel.

If one really cares enough for me to dig it up for the legit quote (the next time I visist home), e-mail me at angelhunterD@juno.com

I still think my idea is better. Alright Star, here it is again, try this one, if it doesn't work, then I quit and you can come screaming at me like a barbaric viking who just had his red meat and ale taken away.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

You are definately our daddy, Joker. Hilarious. I like your idea way better than some counter-rotating gear differential crap. For those who start replicating this car (we all know it has already happened and will likely happen again) it makes the effect a lot easier to reproduce.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

The only problem I see is scraping... And we all know that scraping is BAD.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

Yeah, I was dumb enough to not include it in the picture on how the device connects to the steering mechanism so that it turns with the wheel. It might take a bit of imagination and some hard work, but since when was building the batmobile simple? Unless you are referring to the hub thingy scraping the ground. In that case, it shouldn't be built that big and just hope you dont get a flat.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

Chris,
Other people can't view the pictures if they're just sitting on your hard drive.

Email me the pictures to me and I'll make them available for everyone to see.

That looks like the one that was used in the Drew Carey Show. And by the way, that sure is an evil looking picture of me...oh wait, nevermind.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

i like jokers idea, its simple, prob is doenst really work unless u change the hobcap design, otehr then actuly doign waht they did in the movies (as i posted above form waht the guy told me) i think statinary hobcaps or sinners with counter weights would be fast and easy. add counter weight, pop on, ur done.

Hey Joker,
Doesn't seem like the hub is sittong on top of the wheel base like you diagram.

Do you have any other thought on it?

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

You know what?
Some people claim that Keaton Mobile's jet turbine has phallic design.

But I think that honor should goto Forever batmobile.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

How was this car able to lift the front side up and shoot grappling hook in the movie?
Surely that thing would've prevented it from doing so.

Hey I'm not getting paid to think here. Wait a minute, I'm not getting paid at all. Yes you are right Donovan, the actual hub of the actual Batmobile does not sync up with my 'diagram'(Hehehe, I can't believe you referred to my sketches as a diagram ), but that is because it is not exactly replicating the wheel design, this is just an easier method that I concocted. But as far as making the wheel cover and exact rep., then I'd suggest reconstructing your entyre drive train system to give the wheels the reverse thrust as they did in the movies, or go with the weighted spinners. Your imagination is your only limitation so don't restrict yourself to other peoples' ideas, build onto them. That way you can truthfully say 'yeah, i had some part to play in the designing of...The Batmobile!' How kool would that be? By the way are you a reporter? Lol.

I think I had an afterburner like that that came with one of my Lego sets.

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

Hey y'all. I've been following this site for a few months, but this is my first post.

As for the afterburner exhaust getting in the way of the car being able to raise up, I have no idea. If you go to transfx.com, there are a few pictures of the miniature used for filming the stunt. They're not very hi-res, but enlightening nonetheless.

 From: starlight | Posted: 9/20/2004 3:56:55 AM |

RE: Batmobile Forever Question

It looks like the exahust is tucked in when the car was raised

However, enough with detractions.

How did the hub remain stationery?
No more diagrams?
