Just a Shell

RE: Just a Shell

Check any number of threads on this site. The kits are not LEGALLY available yet, so the few people who have them don't go around posting prices. If you want one, expect to pay about $12k for just the shell. There are 3 guys right now who can get you a shell. All prices are about the same. Several more guys have contacted me and told me they are PLANNING on offering a kit in November. We'll see if they are successful. I would like to see more players on the field.

RE: Just a Shell

and dont forget if u buy a kit shell ull want to make sure body measenrets, becuase if u have to extend a chasies and u dont weld or know how its gonna run u even more. ull also ahve to drop the engine in the car, and if u want it to be street legal thats more too. over all excpet to spend around no less then 20,000.00 for a replica and 25,000.00 and up for a really good replica that is street legal. i redid my estimite for mine and came out to 30,000.00 this time, but im adding a lot of extra items taht is not needed but i also got a bro in law whos a expert welder so the chasies work isent costing me money. also remember a key issue that a lot of people forget, u will get stoped by ever cop that sees the car. weather he is making sure its allowed on the road, or just a fan. also excpet people to follow u around when u drive in the car, even right to ur house, my firend owns a 66 and he has people follow him right into his driveway so they can look at his car.

RE: Just a Shell

jake,

until the patent ends, in november, anyone with bodies is keeping it quiet. wait til then, they'll be coming out of the woodwork. at least 2 or 3 companies known so far. until then it would be irresponsible of us to add links, since they don't even acknowledge the fact they have them anyway. be patient.

RE: Just a Shell

Exactly. As you may have read, people will NOT allow me to post their information publicly yet. Period. Don't try searching, you won't find them. If you want a shell, talk to me, and I can talk to them. Otherwise, wait a few months and people will SLOWLY start coming forward after November. (It will not happen right away, because most people agree that the first few who go public will get attacked by WB to set an example.)

RE: Just a Shell

Naw I need a car that could actually withstand a lil bump and touch with the police. After all I do plan on going out and becoming a local vigilante. Then again if your gonna do it, why not do it with some style.

RE: Just a Shell

So has any kits ever come out of the woods since Patent expired?

RE: Just a Shell

Eh, they are out there, but the builders are still not talking. I guess most people know who can get them shells, but nobody says names. They are all the obvious ones...
