http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

Check it out. Martin is the guy who bought Don's '66 molds, the Currie car from e-bay a few weeks ago (the seller told him it was actually in top shape, regardless of what someone was saying), a Doug Hines' '66 kit, AND an '89 body (from one of our popular friends).

He has a team in Texas that will be building the Currie car, and a fiberglass and automotive team in the UK who will be working with the '89. Good stuff, eh? The pics represented currently of the '66 are simply previous Currie cars, made into turnkeys by various builders, and are only used to show that the kits he will be selling are CURRIE kits, not Butts' kits.

I look forward to seeing what Martin has to offer in the coming months!

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

looks like fraud to me. but why are all the pics dons cars? Could it be Martin hasn't built one yet and is portraying he has? Thats what it looks like to me.
As far as price goes this Brit must be on crack

 From: Justin | Posted: 6/7/2005 6:16:35 PM |

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

No, he has not built one yet. That was the first thing he told me in fact. No fraud here, Mr. Citizen's Alert Team. He is very clear on the fact that he is just now getting into this business, just as Don did, just as Mark did, just as Doug did, etc. etc. And as far as price goes, do you know anybody else in the UK who is offering Batmobile kits? I didn't think so. Its called supply and demand, and if he is the only one supplying, he can demand any price he wants. Thanks for playing our little game, now crawl back into your hole.

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

Yeah it's all Dave's fault.

I thought I got over my 89 batmobile addiction by 2003. Then Dave had to make that 1/18 diecast and peak my interest again.

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

I DONT KNOW ABOUT DON C. BUT IT SURE GETS OLD PEOPLE POSTING PICTS OF DON'S OR MY WORK TO GET THIER BUSSINESS OFF THE GROUND..IN ITS SELF THERE IS A LITTLE FRAUD THERE DONT YOU THINK????????? LET THIER WORK SPEAK FOR THEM AND IF THEY HAVENT BUILT ANY THING YET THEN DONT USE SOMEONE ELSE'S TALENT TO MAKE IT APEAR AS IF THEY DO... BUILD IT FIRST THEN GO OUT AND GET CLIENTS..... ONLY DON AND MYSELF DO THIS FULL TIME AND STAND ON OUR OWN MERRETS (SOMETIMES EVEN ON OUR WORK LOL )..I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET IN THE BUSS. MORE POWER TO THEM JUST DO IT ON YOUR TALENT NOT THE COAT TAILS OF OTHERS............AND PLEASE DONT TURN THIS INTO A FLAME

I sure can't disagree with you, Mark.

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

Mark, I also agree. I keep expecting one of my GA build pictures to show up on someones website saying it's theirs or they know all about it. Hope you decide to build a Tumbler (a Forever car, the 89, etc). I'm sure you will do a great job and will take plenty of pictures for all of us Batmobile fans.

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

I agree with Mark 100% it is fraud. There is No denying that Mark in 2 years has taken the batmobile industry to new heights out building Don atleast 6 to 1 since he started building them. I give Mark T. the 2 Thumbs up award and batbuilder of the new millenium trophy.

You can never disagree with the man holding a beer bottle.

 From: Justin | Posted: 6/7/2005 11:38:40 PM |

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

I agree. I think people need to get out there and actually BUILD one of these cars before they can say they are offering them for sale. However, I also think that it is a good idea to keep track of the people who may be able to do so in the near future. This guy is posting pics of the '89 because he now owns that particular car, and he has a team of people who will be pulling molds off of it for production. Since he is in the UK, he offers no direct competition to anyone out here and therefore it will be fun for everybody to see how well he does!

Besides, it is also cool just to keep track of who owns the bodies for these cars! :) Even if he isn't able to offer kits, I hope he gets the opportunity to get HIS '89 completed.

SIDE NOTE: The '66 pictured is Don's work, as well as yours, Mark (like I even needed to say that! lol). THAT car he does not own obviously, but he used those pics to show that he is going to be offering Currie kits for sale. (It shows that, despite some people's claims, Don's bodies make great Batmobiles!)

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

(BTW, I was agreeing in part with Mark, not Mr. Mysterious there)

RE: http://www.i-want-a-batmobile.com/

Let's not start another flame war here. Mark, I respect you for saying "ONLY DON AND MYSELF DO THIS FULL TIME AND STAND ON OUR OWN MERRETS" and that is all that needs to be said.

 From: DonC | Posted: 6/8/2005 12:49:06 AM |

I agree.....with MT but I really don't care.

LOL....citizen alert team....brett why do you care?
Who said I was in a race?
It's not who gets to the top first it's how you get there!
