Front Turbine

Hey folks, where can I get the front turbine piece only (fins/nose cone)?

RE: Front Turbine

Somebody answer this man's question.
I'm curious, too

RE: Front Turbine

Yeah I need to know too. Also it's not a turbine it is an compressor air inlet housing and inlet guide vanes. As if that matters we know what he is talking about.

RE: Front Turbine

It does matter... We are supposed to be experts.

RE: Front Turbine

Once I get to the body part of my car, it would be easier to put a pre-manufactured one on rather than try to build one from scratch!

RE: Front Turbine

Who wants to do it the easy way?

 From: Jack | Posted: 5/10/2005 8:28:53 AM |

RE: Front Turbine

Who say find one is easy? I haven't found one yet and Tim you know I have tried.

RE: Front Turbine

RE: Front Turbine

Lol. I should print up some promotional t-shirts and sell them to raise money! We should get a club shirt for this board. Any takers? DH? Wanna come up with a design? I will print it.

RE: Front Turbine

Tim's the resident designer not me.

He should design something like this.

RE: Front Turbine

And someone please answer the original poster's question.

Kevin usually stays away for a few days when all the flames start. He has been at the wrong end too many times. He will likely be back soon to answer some questions!

RE: Front Turbine

The front turbine is little more than a small "oil type" drum with welded turbine blades and a mount for the nose cone - Source Unknown

RE: Front Turbine

Couldn't one of the owners just mold theirs and sell them? How about Kevin or Jack? It would be a cool little accessory piece to offer.

RE: Front Turbine

Oh yeah! I should read the whole thread before posting. :-P

RE: Front Turbine

The nose cone is called the CSD and generator set. The generator for the aircraft is housed in there along with the constant speed drives unit.
On the real cars I am told that the Harrier Jet intake and exhaust were used. In most of the pictures I have seen it appears to be right.
Check on ebay and locate aircraft parts and search for engine vains or blades sometimes you can locate an entire turbine wheel intact with blades. If they are to long you can always cut them down to size. You can even contact the sellers to see what else they have. They don’t post everything they have. The cone on the replicas is fiberglass copied from the original car.

RE: Front Turbine

Hey everyone, please look at Tim B's opel replica. Tim's turbine is so sweet. I would love to hear how he made it . What i wouldn't give to have that kind of talent . Tim, very, very nice. Hats off to you my friend. Thanks for sharing.
