Browning Machine Guns vs. Submachine Guns

What's the difference?
I ask b/c someone put a comment in the car section that browning machine guns aren't submachine guns

That was me. Submachine guns are small automatic weapons like uzis and mp5s. The 50. cal machine guns on the batmobile are classed as Heavy Machine Guns. So thats the difference.

The Browning M19119A4 .30 Caliber machine guns were used in the Batmobile not the 50 cal.
