RE: Firefly

Firefly is available from www.cmdstore.com

They are a great shop. I have purchased "The Batman" toys from them as they are one of the only internet stores that will sell into Australia. BTW the new animated batmobile is now my fav - I still have all my corgis from when I was a kid ( and I am 40!!!) but this ride is just so cool!

RE: Firefly

The new Batmobile from The Batmanis not my favorite, but I do like it and have two of them. One of the Wal-Marts here has them for $8.00 while they are at least $19.95 anywhere else including the other Wal-Mart here in town.

RE: Firefly

Thanks for the www.cmdstore.com tip, but they are out of stock.

RE: Firefly

Damn, I miss living stateside...... All the cool toys and TV shows that we don't get down here for ages. The Batman is not due on Cartoon Network until later this year. We are a year behind on the Justice league, but the Teen Titans are only a few episodes behind.

The Batman batmobile is cool from a visual on the show. The toy is not as good looking as its cartoon form, but hey the Knightstiker batride wasn't as good looking either in toy form.

As always the 1989 is up there as the vehicle of choice and I do drool over the replica when I visit movie world here in Queensland. And my little guy has ridden in it twice in the Movie world parade - I have a severe case of bat envy.

RE: Firefly

Hey Mathew,

Next time you get down to Movie World you need to fill up your digital camera with as many photos as you can take. Especially nice close ups of the various details of the car. I know everyone here would really appreciate it. Glad to have you on board!

Tim

RE: Firefly

Well, Jack that look like Mathew has now made you the second oldest guy on the board. Of course that pushes me way down to 3rd.

RE: Firefly

Mathew, just let me say thank you for being older then me and welcome to the board. But Tim, you are incorrect in the whole age area. Kevin is older then me too. Ha ha Sorry Kevin but I just couldn't be named as the oldest or even the second oldest.

Mathew do you have any pictures of the Replica that you could share? Thanks Jack

RE: Firefly

Hi all,

40's not old - just having a second childhood.
Well that's my excuse and having a son who is
into the Dark Knight like me means that we can
buy lots of toys!

Been on the board for ages, just lurking...waiting for
an opportunity to post.

I do have lots of photo's but they have all been shot on
35mm film. I am going down to Movie World some time in March.
My son and I have a season ticket. I'll take the digital
camera and take some pics of the interesting bits of the 89.
The park also has one of the Batboats from B and R and a
replica of the forever vehicle. Sorry to sound like a
tour guide but the Batman ride has the library set from
the first movie, as its entrance and set from Gotham
townhall is part of the buildings around the park.
Warner's wanted real sets when they built the park.
They also had for a while the set from the riddlers
lair on the island from forever. Oh and one of keaton's
costumes is on display as well.

Just as an aside they now have members of the JL
apart from Batman and Supes. Man I can't wait to see
Wonderwoman. If she is anything like the chicks that get
dressed up as Catwoman and Batgirl then I'll need to my
another memory card for the camera.

RE: Firefly

I think we all just like to see new pictures every once in a while. Close-ups of the side mechanics, the turbine, intake, gas caps, wheels/tires, and of course the interior, especially the gauges and controls. Just a short list. :) But don't forget to take those photos of Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Batgirl

Mate....

This is Australia - good looking women in a costume or not
are always top of the list to look at!

RE: Firefly

Mathew, a few years back I spent about a week in Darwin. I have to say that the "Backpackers" were pretty awesome. Jack

RE: Firefly

Try to sanp a few shots under the car if possible. I'm just curious if this is just a shell or a working vehicle. Either way it would be interesting to see what we can see. Not the easiest thing to get shots of but be creative... Just hold the camera down under...

RE: Firefly

Tim,

The 89 at movie world is a working model. They used to
use it in the parade and Batman show prior to the
forever car arriving.
The interior is really worn, if I can get some clear
enough photos you'll see the seats have been worn away
to expose the foam inner. The vehicle hasn't been looked
after or maintained really well.

Mathew
