Tim's Go Cart
Looks like he could've just bought this and move on to the real thing.

RE: Tim's Go Cart
Bada$$ Tim.
What was the process you used to develop that template from the 1:18th?
How did slicing up the plaster car go?

RE: Tim's Go Cart
Thanks.
I wrapped the 1:18 side intake with masking tape, outlined it, removed it and laid it flat, scanned it and traced/redrew it in Illustrator. I then enlarged it and printed out a full size template.
I don't think the plaster would slice too well, besides it's not a very good copy.

RE: Tim's Go Cart
Question for you Tim.
I understand you're carving the fins individiually.
So how can you make each sides identical? Or will be the difference only be noticable to you?

RE: Tim's Go Cart
I'm sure they won't be "identical", but hopefully they will be close and at least close enough that you can't tell. I'll create templates and take measurements and whatever else I can do to make sure they're the same.

Thanks Tim.
I don't know if you posted it before and I missed it, but I'd like to hear about the process you used to create your body.

RE: Tim's Go Cart
Check the "Paging Tim" thread. (Yes, I am too lazy to look it up) He explained briefly. Of course I am sure both you and I would love to get all the gritty details!!!
