Batmobile Model

Hey guys. CAn someone tell me what is teh most screen accurate plastic model of the batmobile available? (Dimension wise)
How is the AMT one from 89? is there a better one that is more accurate?

RE: Batmobile Model

From past discussion, it seems the AMT model has inaccurately shaped hinge for the back trunk.

Not sure how accurate it is otherwise.

When dealing with quetions about batmobile, you gotta light the beacon for Jack or Dave or Kevin or Tim!

RE: Batmobile Model

I'm not sure there is an accurate plastic model. The AMT is probably as good as any. The Japanese 1/32 one may be closer, but I'd have to look at it again. It's been a long time since I looked at it last. I forget the manufacturer, but I'll try to dig it out sometime.

RE: Batmobile Model

I should point out that the Hotwheels 1:18 dicast is the only accurrate model I know of. (except for the gundoors)

RE: Batmobile Model

Apart form the detail, is the overall shape and size of the AMT/Ertl model accurate?

RE: Batmobile Model

...but if that picture on the side of the box is it, then it is NOT accurate. Actually, that may not be it. I know I have that one but I'll have to check...

RE: Batmobile Model

Nope, the one I am talking about is made by Aoshima and it "looks" to be pretty accurate. I'm sure you can find one on eBay.

RE: Batmobile Model

Here is a link to the only Aoshima batmobile I could find on eBay right now. This is a 1/43 scale car and is NOT the one I have. The one I have is 1/32 scale and I didn't pay near as much. Damn, I just realized I don't have this one...

RE: Batmobile Model

We copied some of this model for the 1/18 diecast. The details are very good and the underside is almost dead on (to the full-size). They still didn't get the canopy right but maybe the gun doors are better?

RE: Batmobile Model

One other thing that is not quite right ar the tips of the front fenders. They are a little too pointed and they hook too much. (Man, have I spent way too many hours studying photos of this car.)
