Holy Shit...Wot did I miss. I was outside putting up lights on the house and I finished up cos there's a storm brewing....only to log on and find another storm brewing. I know i'm still relatively new to the site but it looks like everytime a "builders" row breaks out Mark is the one that gets lashed out of it. Is this because he builds replicars and promotes them or is it that he doesn't share enough photos and build information?? I know it's not "he has a Batmobile and I don't so i don't like him" cos we're all grown up's here It look's to me like thats his job so where's the problem??? Just Curious

Good point. Well I pick on Mark only because he said something about keeping 89 parts in stock on a shelf in his shop and then there was the metal side mechanics issue. Sadly, I'm a seeing is believing kind of guy and without proof I just don't buy it. You know we all welcomed you with open arms but if you would have said "I build the best Ferrari replicas in the world" I would have said PROVE IT!!! Well you did just that even without being asked to. You have proved it and I would dare to bet that your 89 will be the best also and I'm confident you will share pictures to prove it.

I would never question Mark's 66 or Mach 5 because I seen tons of pictures and they look great. Mark even posted some great build photos on his web site.

I'm pissed because I'm just so tired of all of the "builder" wars between Mark, Kory, DonC, Justin, Kevin, etc..... Why because I think each of them have a lot to give to CLTC but the wars side tracks everything this site stands for. Often I wonder if they really love the car or if it’s just a business. Yes, I do get upset that some refuse to share their pictures, etc. I figure if you come to this site for info then you should share yours.

Must be a full moon because I’m not in a very good mood at all. Sorry.

Jack, I think sometimes male egos get involved in an almost involuntary way. Our species are competitive by nature. We as humans have a way of making just about everything we glance at a competition. Take figure skating. Who in the hell can say one is better than another. But we will find a way by god. As it goes here, so goes it on other chat boards. The BOTB which has a history of flame wars of legendary proportions, the monster lab just made it so you have to request to join the club to view the board. i.e. they vote you in or not. So, if the greatest minds on the planet can't achieve peace, then logically the chances of a chat board having total harmony full time ain't too high.

Mark, thanks for your picture of the 89 on the Corvette frame but honestly that's all it was it wasn't proof of a build. Lets see what happened next. I mean anyone including me with no talent can cut a frame in half weld in some supports and the sit a body over it. No insult intended but honestly that's the only thing the pictured proved. As far as the owner not wanting pictures posted, WHY? That makes no sense at all since the end product should look like all other 89s. To be a builder then you would have had to do the interior, the engine intake, built a dash, installed seats, hinged the gun door/trunk/side doors, made the exhaust tips and turbine, the side mechanics, etc....A finished car (or at least drivable). Everything that makes you the builder of 66 cars. Also, you should be able to answer every question ever posted on CLTC.

I do consider you a builder but not of 89s. Not yet anyway. Well, December is only 2 weeks away and then with your build log you can become THE 89 Builder but until then there are NO 89 Builders that have been substantiated. Again the only proven build is still the Carmel car.

Mark again this is not an attack on you. The reason it is targeted towards you is because you are the only one who is claming to have 89s and the associated parts. Prove it by shooting a few shots and posting the pix and then I will change my tune and give you the credit that you want. Like I said about your 66 cars, they look great and your build logs are awesome. I don’t think you are a bad guy at all and I thank you for the fiberglass advice that Kory forwarded me a long while back.

Kits available? What's the cost? What do you get in the kit? Hand laid or chopper or both? Mark the ball is in your court and you can easily end all of this BS bickering by simply providing proof. If you want to keep the pix secret then email them to me and I’ll come out on CLTC and tell the world you are the only 89 builder and for everyone else to shut up. Mark please end the war by providing the proof of a turn key, a kit, and the parts you say you have.

PS loved the Coors Lightyear costume, oh and the twins.

I don't get it. MT has a PROVEN track record for builing cars.
So we haven't seen a 100 pictures of an 89. MT friggin' built a Mach 5 spot on from the cartoon car. He's building a Munster coach from scratch, bat boat, 66 car, racer X's car, the list goes on. He has cars in museums for heavens sake.

If you don't think he can build an 89 I think you're nuts.

I am NOT discrediting other people efforts here. There is talent on this board. Jack and Kevin are both doing well and I think it's awesome you're building your dream car. (and doing an excellent job) I hope to one day do the same.

In the past 2 or 3 years I've known about MT he's always backed up his statements. So be patient. One day when you least expect it, he'll probably post a bunch of pics of all kinds of 89 content.

He's a busy guy. He's building peoples cars right now, so I doubt he wants to take away from a lucrative build contracts to take photos of metal parts to appease people on this board.

Understand I DO not want to come off as rude to anyone. That's not my style. This is just my take on this thread. I also understand that people want to see proof to backup his statements about the 89, but I say the proof is in the pudding. Look at his track record look at the advances he’s made in kit fabrication.

Now let’s get back to helping each other build our dream car.

That's where not paying attention gets people off track. No one said he can't build an 89. Hell I know he can and I would bet it would be pretty awesome. It would be like you saying you build R2-D2s but have no pictures or proof of your product. In the days of the Internet and digital cameras it's unthinkable that 5 minutes can't be dedicated to a few pictures. I say there is no proof that any replicas have ever been produced except the Carmel car. NONE!!! Yes there has been a boatload of bodies made and sold but no completed cars. Lots of INW projects, I know of at least 5 in work right now. Like you said the proof is in the pudding so if there's pudding then lets see it. That goes for all "Builders".

As far as the quality battle between the 66 builders. I don't really care, they can fight about who makes the best 66 all day long, but do it on the 66 board just not CLTC.

It’s like I told Mark this silly war can easily be ended with just a few shots of his product. Show us the completed 89 as well as the kit. Include the price and such and then there can be no argument that what has been said is true.


Heck I'm even sure why I care about any of this I guess I just didn't want to be left out.......... I think everyone on this board (with the exception of a couple) are some amazing people with some amazing talents. The best of the best as far as that goes. Everyone has been great. Maybe I'm just having a picture low and need a fix.

I would just like to know why the photo shopped pics never get questoned.....Just my 2 cents. I really don't care what people think of me fact is I have sold more cars then I think anyone.....enough pudding for ya! (Which would mean Mark has built many cars....The 89 pics will be coming HELL I LOVE TO LOOK AT EVERYONES CARS......I HAVE THE DISEASE BAD BABY BAD ....got to have them all!!

No one is questioning anyone's ability to build '89s. There's nothing to question about Photoshopped photos. It's very simple, all Jack is saying is that there isn't anyone here on CLTC building '89s. If you are building '89s let's see some pictures, show us how great your craftsmanship is. Now you don't have to show us proof. I don't think that anyone here is under the delusion that you are somehow obligated to post pictures. You don't owe us anything. We don't have some kind of right to see your work. Just don't expect us to take your word for it. Especially when it's mixed with all the trash talk, bashing others work and saying your own is superior.

WHY? Because he never said he makes and sells the BEST Forever car. He never said I have metal side parts, I have parts on my shelf. And the biggest reason is because it was the Forever car and not the 89. You and Mark have made some big claims and now you are being asked to back it up. If you can’t then just say so and lets move on.

But Kory that's your problem. Instead for providing proof to end the war you simply try to divert the question to someone else adding to the war. In this case I'm guessing you are referring to Batgod's Forever car. Again not an 89 so who cares but at least it shows he had something to work with. Also, I’m pretty sure Batgod never said it was a completed car, rather a rolling body for display. Is that what Mark's 1st 89 was, a rolling display? Kory you are in a prime spot to end the wars. Give us the spill that you tell you clients, show us what you show them. I’m sure you have something because no dumb a$$ in there right mind will dropped $89k without some sort of proof. Like you do with the 66, tons of proof there. Now prove the 89. Again I’m sure Mark’s future 89 will be great but that’s in the future.

Selling cars doesn't make you a builder either or an 89 expert. I would suggest to you that you take the time to listen to what other say instead of arguing like you did with me over the "Trailer Taillights". I guess by now you have accepted that you were wrong about that. Again, with “The original car never left England”. So you say you don’t care what people think about you well you should because what people think about can transfer to what people think about your boss, Mark. I’m not a big fan because of the issues above, the promise about providing me the insurance info, and the fact that you wanted me to leave CLTC for some site that you still don’t have up and running. I’ll never understand your "my side is better" philosophy. There are no sides, just one team. No Mark’s team, Paul’s team, Kevin’s team, etc…. Everyone here loves the 89 and wants to know as much as possible about it.

Kory, are you saying you have sold 89s for Mark or are you still repeating what we have already said about Mark's 66 cars, etc.

Bottom line is I want Mark to build and sell 89s. I want him to build tons of them. I love the 89 and I love seeing every one of them. I would love to see one of Mark’s 89s rolling down the street. Build them, please build them. But until you can prove that you have “built” one and have kits available quit claming it to the world. Pictures speak a thousand words. Plus Jack likes pictures. Show me the proof and the 3 or 4 guys who keep emailing me about kits I’ll send them your way.

Back to the original question. Of the guys that have molds and I'll go with the following assumption, Mark, Batgod, Yancey, Eric, etc... Would be willing to sell parts? What would they cost the buyer?

Hood?

Rear half?

Trunk lid?

Gun doors (each)?

Side doors (each)?

Nose cone?

Side mechanics?

Front air dams?

Canopy?

Side Intakes?

Turbines?

Did I miss anything?

He might be talking about the '66 kit pics that Kevin posted a year ago on Eric's board... He jumped in and claimed the pictures were all doctored and photoshopped because there was no way the body looked that nice out of the mold. Of course, every photoshop expert out there was quick to say that they saw no evidence of photoshop manipulation. So either Kevin is a damn fine photoshop expert (which, as I have had to RESIZE pics for his ass in the past, I do not think that is the case) or Kory is grasping at straws.
