RE: Chris' Retro Bat--------In No particular order This started out as a free '92 Cutlass Supreme Triple Black Convertible a towing Co. gave me. I have a DonC. $1000.00 turbine, I have a pair of $900.00ea. Porsche Headlights for it, and a bunch of MISC. I tried to have a local "customizer" in Ohio mock up the fin but he couldn't understand the body line. MT talked me into shipping it there, but it did me no good. Now it's here waiting for me to attack it in the spring! This monstrosity above is why when you look up CUSTOMIZER in Ohio the page reads: GO ELSEWHERE! Pontiac builds excitement. RE: Chris' Retro Bat Chirs, really cool idea. I think the body lines of the futura/66 car would make a great hot rod with the roof lines of a 59 Fairlane. I wanted to do something similar with a 60 Falcon I had, but the donor was too much of a basket case to pursue to project. Where in Ohio are you? RE: Chris' Retro Bat The fins of the Retro are just metal experimentation by 1 shop or another. It has a LOOOOOOOOONG way to go. There's a guy here in Cincinnati who does PHENOMENAL custom metal work. He's working on Drew Barrymore's Grandfather's 1 of 7 Bentley 2 door cabriolet and it's very well done. Matt, I like the idea you CAN experiment like that. I'd love to have you find me a REAR view of the '66 or a head-on shot that you can modify with your graphic skills. Everyone loves the profile image, but since it's only 1 dimensional, they can't wrap their mind around what the rest of the car should look like. I have ideas that I've put to paper (starving graphic artist here), but they don't have the photographic splendor of your software. I'll be sure to post more as time goes marches on. Thanks! RE: Chris' Retro Bat Hi All, Yeah, I'm still lurking now and then. You guys freaked me out with the post of my Retro......lol. I thought for a moment someone else was doing that shit? The Retro Bat is on hold as I'm still smarting from the battle of the '66. In any event, my '66 will be back here this week with my modified steering wheel and a few improvements. I still can't drive the damn thing because the builder screwed up the seat to package shelf location. That's the next fix. RETRO: Beleive it or not, it's still neatly packed in my garage waiting for warmer weather to unpack it to see if I got all my parts back. There's a guy here in Cincinnati who got some airplay over the Dean Speedster whereby he modified a Porsche Boxster to give it the James Dean look to the front and rear until he got a C&D from the estate of James Dean. The joke is he built the car for some bigshot at GE whose name is Mitchell Dean which is what the car was named after. He's an excellent craftsman as he has Drew Barrymore's grandfather's 1 of kind 30's era Bently convertible, and makes custom vintage Porsche fenders and hoods right down to the hammer/dolly marks for a concourse restoration. Long story longer, lol, this guy's crew LOVED the Retro Bat and the chance to just DREAM about making it the streamlined version of the '66. I got the sense they'd dig it if I got it there, but I'm spread pretty thin right now until things shape up a bit for me. I currently have $900.00 Porsche headlights for it and I have Don's $1000.00 all aluminum turbine intended for it, and a set of canopys for front and rear. A local shop had mocked up the fins, but didn't get it right. What I really need is for someone who is capable to photoshop the Retro Bat and make some rear and head-on views for the prospective builder to envision with us------how the Retro SHOULD Look given what else is visible in that 1 dimensional image. I'm pretty much tapped until my adoption legal woes subside ($20k+). I've got a '71 Lemans Ragtop undergoing a rotisserie restoration http://www.cwrestorations.com/1972%20Lemans%20Sport%20Convertible.htm all at the same time as my '74 Grand Am is having a new $1100.00 interior installed. My hope is once the '71 is done, I'll sell it to finance the Retro to compliment my showing of the '66 once I get all the other problems resolved. Thanks for the continued interest. I like some of the mix and match ideas posted above! It doesn't cost a nickle to dream

RE: Chris' Retro Bat Here's what the front and back of the side shot I did might look like. It's freakin hard to draw this stuff!!! I like the front. The back idea was to really modernize things as I really don't like the look of the back of the 66. There two covers are for the parachutes still. Instead of having all 3 pipes sticking up, I thought they could come out of the body and follow the car toward the back. More exhaust at the bottom. Anyway, if I really feel like a challenge I'll try to draw what a top view might look like. (Click it for a larger shot)
