World of Wheels 2006

Hi gang, just got back from the World of Wheels in Atlanta Georgia. Sent the whole weekend there and went to the show both Saturday and Sunday. got to spend a little time with George Barris. He was great and let me hang out on the other side of the table. It was almost like I was working for him. Truth is if I would have been there alone then I would have helped out. I had a great time and got some autographs. Most importantly I got the autograph that I went for. George Barris on the side cover of by in progress Bat-bike. Should look great on it when the bike is finished.

This was probably the coolest car in the show. The VooDoo Spider.

Cool car! And even COOLER that you got that autograph for your bike!! Just curious - is that one of the pieces Paul sent you? Also, did you already paint all the pieces for your bike? How did you do it?

I painted the bike a long time ago before I got the kit from Paul. Actually all I painted was the gas tank, the battery side cover (picture above), and the oil tank. Once I get all the parts I'll paint them and then assemble the bike. For now the side cover gets put away for safe keeping.

Here are a few more pix from this weekend.

Here is another of my favorites.

Here are a couple for Rusty.

And the last one was my wifes idea of a joke for Justin and DH and Paul.... The answer is yes I was scared to get any closer. My wife after all was taking the picture. Oh on a side note Thomas wet himself after the girls held him....That's my boy.

Oh lastly I should have been wearing my CLTC T-Shirt but I had it signed by Mr. Barris so I guess i'm going to have to buy a new one.

That last one is cool. Are the stripes on the batmobile reflective, or was that just the lighting? Thanks for the pics Jack.

Someone's kid looks happy!!

The stripes aren't supposed to be reflective (TMK), but I've hear of people using a reflective paint when they couldn't get the proper shade of red.

The stripes were as far away from red as you can get. They were pretty much a yellowish orange at best. I would say it was the lighting but there were plenty of red cars there.

I've seen red cars shift towards orange under florecent lights. My buddy has a 66 'Stang painted Viper Red, it looks orangy under florecents. I know someone that used the safetry red the first time they painted their stripes. it looks correct under natural light and to the nekkid eye, but when photographed it is orange.

Although, alot of people would base their color choice on photographs, to the original paint might glow a bit under flash, but is actually a shade of red.

Great photos, and I saw that spyder car with Barris last year, he didn't have anything to do with it, but it was WAY cool! Not sure how fun to drive (need glasses because there wasn't much in the way of windshields!
Thanks for the photo of you, (you were in there somewhere, I will have to go back and look some more.)

$5.00 for autograph?

How much did you spend on autographs alone?

I love that Ford and the custom work. I'd probably make it look more realistic on the custom work with the skull and all, but it still looks good.
