Hot Wheels Tumbler question

I have a silly question. How do you open the cockpit on the 1/18 tumbler? The roof is little flimsy and I don't want to force anything.
Thanks!

This is what Steve wrote in another thread.

It does indeed open; you have to pull upward on the cap by taking hold in the openings left by the missing side windows and pulling upward. It takes an alarming amount of force to get it to pop, but it will...

Nice interior painting.
I actually took the one that I re-did the front wheels on, and took care of almost all of the paint-scheme differences, too.

I want to paint my interior but after the hassle of getting it open and closed (closing was worst), I'll leave it alone.

Doing the above type of paint job would necessitate a lot of disassembly of the car... there is just NO way to get at all of that by way of the canopy as it exists; it doesn't open anywhere near enough...

I used a hammer and brick to get mine apart...
