Jack Knight1979, so does George Lucas actually support replica builders?? We're not used to that...

Yes he actually does support us with certain guidelines.
We can't resell our work, we can only sell parts to other people in a certain group. We have to build them ourselves no one person can just build them. Lucas would come down hard on that one person.

Lucas Film actually hires us builders for publicity events. It's pretty cool. It also keep ILM cost down. Shipping R2 and operators all over isn't cheap.

Too bad the WB can't realize that they could have relationships with bmobile builders and it would actually make the WB look better by having their flagship identities in public. Always keeping batman fresh on the public mind. Oh well.

On a side note. I have the only privately owned R2 in world that was weathered by Don Bies, the guy who drives r2 in the new trilogy and handles the builds for the SW movies.

BTW, George, Rick McCallum and Don Bies are great guys and I'm pleased to have met them all. It was pretty surreal.
