Really from the movie?

I found this pic that someone took at comic-con in San Diego. Supposedly this is a model from the first movie (according to the little tag in the picture. Look at the price in the tag too! Anyone know if this is true? I didn't remember a miniature shot of the batmobile...

It's in the scene where Luke and Hans take a Sunday drive around the Deathstar.

That pic of the batmobile driving through the chem factory is a real batmobile not a toy. It might be one of the mock up cars I have no idea but its pretty cool. I hope the core responds ...

It could be the real deal but replica kits are available and are said to have been pulled from the original molds. It's actually the same body as the one I have. Check out the low spot in the center of the hood.

This is probably the best way to answer that question. We have our long lost buddy Dave to thank for this info.

The dip is just on the miniature, not on the real car. Jack just pointed out that his miniature has the same dip indicating that it most likely came from the same mold.

RE: Really from the movie?

that is the model sold at auction by Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz. It was used in the minature shots at axis in the first movie. It sold for $15,0000. It even had a custom paint scheme that made it look like the purple skin of a beetle to match the harsh lighting used in minature shooting.

I am not sure if Dave told this to Jack or me or posted it.Dave wanted to paint the 1/18 that color but WB had a fit,But Dave or one of the guys at Hotwheels did manage to get the 1/64 close to that color .This was the limited to 10,000 run that came out in 2004.

RE: Really from the movie?

Jack I have to ask what is going on with the gray metalic paint on your model are you going to do a flip flop or a ghost paint or candy color?
