RE: found this...... no DooHee, he just means he got exclusive access to the show car. He was able to shoot footage of it privately. Electric canopy though or added FX??????

RE: found this...... the canopy was real. all the fx you saw were real. the pyros in the show. the canopy opening. all that i did was add the sound because none of the actual sounds of the car or canopy sounded accurate. Blinky Productions: High quality films... with out the budget |

RE: found this...... Ok this isn't Batman the movie but it's the returns car and u can clearly see the actuator arm. 
I'm sure there's lot's of ways to do it but I was just curious how ur's was done. Sneek a camera in next time will ya

RE: found this...... I disagree Nitro. That cannot be the Returns car. For one, neither of the movie cars had actuators in the center. RE: found this...... There are so many differences between the onscreen car and the onstar car. For example the turbine exhaust, there is no where for the flame to be produced. There is a screen in the upper part of the car just behind the canopy. RE: found this...... Yes, there was definitely an actuator in the movie. The detached it for some of the shots but left it for others. Tim is also right about Keaton using it to get out of the car in one of the shots. The pictures are around here somewhere. Jack took the screenshots. As for the Onstar car being the screen used car, this was confirmed by Dave when he visited the car at WB. |

If the six flag doesnt use an actuator in the middle AND still opens like that, we would all be interested in seeing photos and discriptions of how it works automatically without one. (often times it's a stunt driver ducking down and making it work in the movies, so let us know!) On another topic, is that the best photo of the extra gas cap on the passenger side? Anyone have a close up of that cap on the back of the car?

RE: found this...... Joker are you kidding me? I thought you had been around for a while... there is a center actuator between the seats. They tried to hide it in the movies but it was there. Also surely you know it was the same 2 cars used for the movies that were turned into the OnStar cars. They are one in the same with a new paint job. Sorry. from Batman

RE: found this...... And the actuator arm had a retaining pin inside so that when the car was shipped with the battery removed or disconnected, you could slide the canopy forward manually.

RE: found this...... jack is right. i believe the actuator is under the hood. cause for the stunt show i doubt they wanna risk batman or robin getting snaggled on that bad boy, plus, i rode that car like a horse for some stock footage. (quite a funny visual if i might add, im straddling the roof of the car, canopy open, hanging on for dear life while that asshole of a driver tries knocking me off- mind you im holding in my hand a very expensive camera) but in any case, no actuator above the seating. the way the car is designed, the driver is behind the 2 seats and flicks the canopy with a switch. batman and robin hop out and he continues to drive the car. theres a pryo in the rear, like in the movies. (you can see it in catfight) and thats about it. the car is pretty light weight compared to the movies, the entire body under the hood is practically empty. the engine is in the rear. this way if some dumbass crashes the car head on, there will be no damage to the engine. by the way, thats happened. one time, the batmobile went head first into a wall and shattered the entire chasey. smashed the fuck out of it. fortunately, the audience thought that was part of the show. the sucky part was there was no batmobile for a week. i guess batman doesnt have AAA. RE: found this...... What?!!! They crashed the batmobile. That really sucks. The sad thing is I would love to even have the smashed one. Can you get any pictures of the engine in the rear? I was unaware that any of the cars were like that. And as far as the looney tunes batmobile, wasn't there some discussion about whether it was one of the movie cars or not? I seem to remember it being declared not one of the originals, but then again, I could totally be making that up. |
