A little break from Tekken 5

This car was posted from some guy's blogger long time ago.

I just got the shots of the interior.

Do we know who owns this one or the story behind this?

RE: A little break from Tekken 5

Yup. This car is owned by a dude up in NorCal (Those pics were taken in or around Carmel, CA.) From the looks of it, it was built by one of Bob Butts' builders (you can tell by the jet fighter cockpit top).

If I hadn't seen that before, I would've assumed that's something sg1star's making.

Lol. RJ is great. Did you know he was making functional web shooters, too?? I built a house out of popsicle sticks once and I thought I was cool...

RE: A little break from Tekken 5

I think someone went just a bit nuts with the Bat logos... Although the side panels are a little shoddy, overall the interior looks pretty nice. It just looks too cheesy to me. Too much "Batman & Robin" you might even say.

RE: A little break from Tekken 5

I agree some of it's kind of cheesy but it's pretty awesome that this guy has an '89 and drives it around. Looks like he went to get a coffee and bagle and a huge crowd gathered!

I wonder what prompted the flip-up canopy decision. If that's as far as it flips up then getting in and out has to be a pain in the a$$.

RE: A little break from Tekken 5

The guy who used to build for Butts did all of his canopies that way. It is WAY easier than figuring out the rail mechanisms and crazy ball-bearing thingies that make the original work... Dan R. is having his car built by Bob's former builder, and he was the first to INSIST that his work like the original.

I would if I knew who he was.

I just know how to find pics. I not know how to talk to people.

RE: A little break from Tekken 5

I think this calls for a Jack of all trades. Jack you are my number one guy, so make friends with this guy and for God sakes play nice.I think if memory serves, this is the guy with a real driveable 89. Not that Tim B's is not real, hell that is a one of a kind extra-ordinary car and my hats off to him. I just meant street legal cars made from kits.

Is that the same car in both pictures? I can see that the license plate is the same on both, but the side intake metal is either painted or covered red in that first series of pictures, and is the usual grey in the bottom car. Maybe it was just a plastic cover he could take off.

it looks as if the rear license plate on the first set of pictures isnt in the same location that its in on the second set of pictures. i could be wrong though, it might be an optical illusion of some sort, camera angle etc...

Tailights and the number on the license plate are of the same.

Either way, someone needs to get in contact with this guy. It took us a year before the guy who won the MTV Batmobile from Richmond, VA to respond to a thread asking about his car's whereabouts.

Also, notice that if it is the same car it must have some sort of hydraulics because the first car's body sets very low to the ground, but the second is raised another 5 or so inches to give the body clearance on the road. Kind of looks a little goofy since the wheels don't line up with the body correctly.

Here's the owner.

Maybe I should give the blueprints to him in hopes getting a ride on his batmobile.
