I was wondering how do these kit car and replica company’s that sell Lamborghinis and other modern day exotics and get away legally with what they are doing. How are kits sold of the 89 batmobile without any copyright infringements?

I've wondered the same thing for a good while now, and still havent come up with a legit answer, i did stumble accross a post here a while back about lambo is planning on sueing some corp for making exact replica's of the new Reventon they just put out, but i never heard of the outcome.

Course i cant blame them, if it were legal, i had plans to make a replica of it myself , not for sale of course.

Honestly tho!  If you made a replica of a car, new or old, movie car or not, if you only made one, and made it for your own personal use, is that really a bad thing?  I just dont see how that could be so illegal.  But thats just me talking aloud.

I've been looking at countach replicas for years almost bought 2 cars (the fact they were non-runners and the owners were looking for a large amount of cash put me off)

Lamborghini have been making threats for years, as far as I know they have never followed through even with the current crop of revention replicas.

Ferrari on the other hand have tried to put a stop to the 355, 360 and F430 replicas here in the uk, not sure how far they got, because the replica companys just shut up shop and move on, hand the moulds over to the next person.

The same set of 355 moulds have turned up on ebay from different seller a hand full of times. It seem the person buys the moulds pulls a body and then sells the moulds on. Now theres an idea

I will definatly be back
