now dont get me wrong..tdk was a great movie..but am i the only one that still likes the 89 batman the best..the music ,the art deco sets.the suit..everything was timeless and i loved the joker that jack played....and the(car).....and i know someones saying yea your saying that because you have a 89 batmobile......but i really liked the dark knight.....could i watch it over and over..i dont know...the 89 movie i can .......but heres what really got me i went to the 12:01 showing with my 13 year old...and i would glance over at her from time to time...and alot of that movie was hard for her to take in...and she loves batman.....soon as its over we are headed out...she says ..i liked it but i like the old one alot better....it makes me think is this batman for everyone ..i know some say its what he was like in the comic book...but is that what bob kane was thinking..gotham didnt look gothic...it looked like any big city...was batman a super hero...or just a hero..maybe i need to go see it again........but in my kids eyes its a little to dark....i think she wants to see a superhero movie that makes her want to be that hero.....not one where she would be scared to be the guy........anyway i will shut up now and you can burn me at the steak and one small thing i think i saw..when the lambo's at full speed on the side view...are the brake calipers in the shape of bats...anyway something to look for

| I hated BB but loved every minute of TDK. Great pacing and outstanding performances by Ledger and Eckhart. I still cringe at Bale's batman voice though. I was always impressed with art deco style and goth visuals of B89 and Batman Returns. I wasn't too impressed with visuals in TDK but I really dug the story telling. I laughed at the idea or realistic batman movie when you've got a guy dressed up like a bat with a cape as the main character and a guy wearing clown make up as a villain but Nolan brothers managed to make a realistic story out ot it. One thing for sure the entire audience was captivated and stared at the screen with such attention I didn't see a single person get up to leave for bathroom or talk on cell phones.

I hear you Rusty. I still like the car better and Anton Fursts vision of Gotham. The 89 movie seems more stylized to me and the new one is always tasking steps to try to make the movie seem more credible - like it could actually happen. I loved TDK, but agree that it is VERY dark. Definitely not a kids movie. I doubted Ledger could hold up to Nicholson's performance, but he did great. Very different take on the character, but great. Ledger was much more scary, but Nicholson got the good lines, IMO. I have to agree with DH on the voice though - if there's one thing I find completely stupid about Bale's Batman it's the growly voice. That and wearing a cape on the Batpod

Well we're all entitled to our opinions Rusty. Truthfully though, being that is was an awesome movie, you can't compare it to the 89. There not even in the same class. That'd be like comparing the 89 to the 66. It's just not the same. I love TDK in its own right. I like how it showed the realistic consequences of being a hero would turn out, rather than the "just accept it" style in the other movies. If there were any messages written across this movie it'd be "Don't try this at home". But, like you, I'm still for the 89. That's what I grew up on, and that's the Batman that I'll always know and love.

| Well I was born in 61 and have gone through the whole thing so far....(except TDK wich comes out here soon). IMO nothing beats the 89 car (not even Bond's Aston). Anton's work on the car and Gotham City would be hard to beat in any movie (OK Blade runner comes close). I love the fact that Batman got his 'beginning' told and the Tumbler rightly deserves it's place in the line up of Batmobiles...and I cant wait for TDK (please forget the Forever and Robin movies....they about killed it all for me). Like what was said before.....it's comparing chalk and cheese...or 89 to 66. We are all still gonna go for the one we love best....whatever that 'version' happens to be. BTW : DH ? Stop pointing out the 'goodies' to WB. Yer link is now under attack
