So I have a friend that is going to Star Con on the 20th (I think its the 20th) so she asked me to make her a gun. When I saw what she wanted I liked it, so I'm making myself one too. Can you guess what I'm going to do with these. They arrived about 10 min ago

Ok, I'm building the hand gun from the first season of the new Battlestar Galactical.

This is a replica someone else built. It's a little different but the picture is nice and big.

And here is where I'm at. Hopefully I will have most of wednesday and all of thursday to finnish it up.

I will make molds of the parts and cast them out of resin. And I plan on the gun still working when I'm done.

I wish I had a cnc machine. that would make this a breeze.

Considering you dont have a CNC machine, what all are you using/doing to creat such straight clean cuts?

Battlestar Galactical, never would have guessed.   I havent had TV since 2000, so i wouldnt know

the detail stuff is made out of balsa so I use a ruler and an x-acto for those cuts.

Lets see... so far I've used a scroll saw, router, cut off saw, a couple of files and an x-acto.

So I didn't make Star Fest but here is where the gun is at now.

I scraped my first side parts. These are made of layers of Balsa. Almost ready to mold, yay!
