I recently put together a small CNC router.

I might have a go at cutting out all the panels once my CAD work is done and make a model.  If it works I be able to apply the same concept on a larger scale once I make my larger CNC.

THATS AWESOME!  i had plans to do the same thing, im just worried about the software part.  Im not so sure i could make that part happen.   Considering my 3d skills are about as polished as poo on a stick.

How much did a machine like that run ya?   I still want to build me one just to see if can do it.

Yep..  it'll cut most things that only require an up and down cut.  It can't in from the sides.  It only has a 3 axis cutting range.  But it can cut vector path easy enough.  A lot of sign writers use them to cut letters or words out of plastic or engrave things.  I bought / made it to make 3D costume parts.

For example.. here's the centre of the Begins belt I've drawn in 3D.  The CNC should be able to cut it easy enough.

I figure it'll also be able to do small models... or the panels at least.

Cost was about $2000US for the parts for CNC but then you need software to run it.

Brad.

I love this site. Everyday I learn something new. I just learned that spidey4fun is coooool. So sweet..you rendered the costume. Can't wait to see more.

I am a HUGE fan of the wall crawler, but i won't say anything more about it here.

Some more progress pics.  I spent some time working on the rear air in take.  The roof is way out... but just starting to look at it.
