| Hey Conrad, i really dont know how they do it in the big world of autobody and design. I just figured that would be a very inexpensive way of doing it for the average joe. I figure if you have a projector that is mounted where it WONT move, and an area where you can put the sheet of paper, or plywood that you plan to project on mounted SOLID, where they cant move, your measurements will always be the same.
As long as the distance from the projector never varies from one drawing to the next, all ribs will be the same scale. Simple...and yet effective. Same thing with the panels for the tumbler. Make up a template for all the panels on one side of the vehicle, project and cut them out, then for the oposing side of the car simply flip the projector paper over and cut them in reverse, that way both sides are perfectly matched, left to right. This way you wont run into my problem with my first build and have one side shorter and slumping compared to the other.

| Good work, the illustrator file is great! Will you be adding files when you fix the missing ribs and figure out the canopy? I do have access to a projector. hmmmm... NO, NO, Tumbler first I think projecting the tumbler panels will be harder just because you would need an unfolded view of the panels. I will see if I can do that with my model. Of course my model is not exact so I doubt anyone would want those images. does anyone know if they will be making the tumbler model again with the new movie? And how accurate is the model?

chilebean (2/27/2008)
does anyone know if they will be making the tumbler model again with the new movie? And how accurate is the model? That actually was going to be my next question, maybe as detailed as the 89? And you are right Chilebean, you would have to unfold the panels, a task in itself, but you gotta admit, WELL worth the effort in the long run!

| Here's a question, just how accurate do you think the body of the paper model is? http://paperinside.com/batman/tumbler/ IF that is as dead on as its gonna get for now, maybe there is a good start for building the panels, since they are already unrolled and flattened out. hmm....

The paper model seems a bit off but I'm sure if someone were to work on one it would be pretty good after a few itterations. Maybe increase it to a 3' model to be more accurate. Hmmmm, again I do have access to a projector

| Might be something worth looking at....hmm. I know the tires are WAY off on the model, that in turn makes everything else look off. Sad thing is i cant just grab a sheet of "parts" for the paper tumbler and stretch or skew them. Reworking the numbers for those parts would take some DRASTIC work. I'ma sit back and put my thinking cap on and see of a better, inexpensive way. Until then....
