Oh, don't worry Shagg-ster..you will be one of them. Remember what Mick said..."Time is on our side...yes it is!"

OK I promise no more vacation pics...but i had to show these:

Talk about big wheels! Hey Dave...howabout these rims and axles!

behind this welding (that's not as pretty as dave's guy by the way) I can see the giant VDrive that redirects 2 (i think) drive shafts. the one for the front axle was not connected.

And here's wifey and me at a friends house that's for sale...nope, not enough property...but a sweet house though.

Ok i promise...next post will be Tumbler related! See ya!

To my surprise and enjoyment, i found a place that can get me my BV's rear rims. not even a mile from my front door. I picked up a RIM to mount it on the 39.5 swampers. the manufacturer recommends a 9.75 inch rim. I thought it might buldge alot. the wheel guy told me he thought that it should be mounted on a 12 inch wide rim. he even called to consult with another wheel guy who also said a 12. he commented that many don't live by the manufacturer recommendation. in any case I'm pleased with the smaller bulge.

I tried to get Mavis and another local tire place to mount this monster but they failed miserably. I got it done today at a truck/tractor wheel place. What a bunch of characters they were...good guys though. One lives near me and knows of an axle guy that can cut one down to size for me.

It's a great feeling to know that there are professionals nearby that can help me make my project come to life.

I picked up a second rim and will be mounting another tire tomorrow morning. so far it looks like the width of both wheels fully inflated and mounted will be somwere around 33" with a one inch gap. I don't know how much a custom rim with a huge negative offset will add to that, if at all. we'll see.

This is starting to get more fun. I wish there was more time in the day for this...ah but I gotta work right? need to pay for this stuff. I'm trying to be patient but every time i accomplish something i want MORE NOW.

one day at a time.

Hey Conrad remember to keep in mind that the tires will buldge even further once the weight of the Tumbler is placed on them. Its critical to maintain at least an inch of space on a loaded tire to prevent the duallies from rubbing against each other which could cause the tires to fail....BWD
