| There's already a nice seam down the roof line. Is 6" too wide or just right. Should it be wider and how wide could it be before it started to look stupid? I just measured my 89 body at the fenders and it about 7 feet wide or 84". Would 8 feet wide be too wide since the body is 19 feet long? I wonder......BWD

The best way would probably be to send your body to Jack I think your right but maybe instead of cutting in the gutters, cut the inside edge of the fenders so you end up with wider fenders not wider gutters. Looks like it would be hard to widen the deck lid on account of the exhaust turbine. I think the wider fenders would be cool and more cabin space would be nice. like this maybe

No no no don't do it..... The only thing that was wider on the originals were the rear quarters. To make them wider you would have to resculpt that area. It could be done but the dang thing is impractical enough as is. Take a look at Nates build. Eddie Paul cut it right done the center... Yuck..

Really the easiest way is to cut a slit out of the back and pull the body apart in the back, then fiberglass some filler in. Looks ridiculous IMHO, however. Here are some pics of Nate's car when it was inadvertently led down that path:

| Hey Justin did you have any pictures of Nate's car finished being made wider. That seems like a pretty easy way to make it wider. I'm not convinced that I need to make it wider but its interesting to me how the though just popped into my head and whalla you have pictures of it and Jack is telling me NO,no,no.... I would worry about making the body even weaker than it already is. Thanks for the pics...BWD

Nate panicked just a bit when he heard that his car had been cut in half. He ended up having it put right back the way it was before, so it was never finished being made wider. Eddie Paul actually had a cool idea for a "double exhaust" jet setup in the back, to fill the extra space.
