Hey Guys, After stumbling around for two years trying to build a Batmobile on my own I ran across this website. I started reading Rusty's Build and read ever page over the next 24 hours. It was like, I was trying to build a car in a garage in the dark. After reading Rusty's build, the lights were turned on and through his example I have seen the errors of my way.

Dave's pictures.   I actually think this thing looks mean as hell.  But this is only the doner.  Glad you found some help and ideas on CLTC.  You can always count on us for support and help.  Best of luck and welcome the the Builder's area!!!

Dave tell us what your original plan was for this beast.

Now that's a great way to start.  Can't wait to see the body.

Wow, that's the best looking donor I've ever seen!  That thing looks halfway to being some NEW Batmobile.  Those wheels and tires kind of give it a Tumbler look. ...and I mean that as a compliment.  It looks tough, like it could roll over a car while the '89 would have a hard time rolling over a curb  (well, maybe not Rusty's :w00t

Can't wait to see more.

That does look nice! I think I'd want to just make a modified scaled version of the 89 to fit, but good luck.

Hey Jack, I was going for a four seater, t-top, Lambo doors 1989 Batmobile on steriods. Even though its tough looking I'm going to divert this build to a Batmobile thats closer to the 1989 but with some hotrod twists..I would like to thank all the members of this site for their inspiration and support to all members even newbies like myself. Without this forum I would still be stumblng in the dark. My sincere gratitude and apprecition go out to you all. Big Wave Dave

Hey Tim, Thanks for the the kind words. This car started its life as a 1970 Fleetwood Brougham. The 80 year old man I bought it from had no idea I was going to chop up his recently restored Cadillac and turn it into a Batmobile. The 500 cubic inch engine originally produce 345 hp. With the rebuilt engine and modification it should dyno out at 500 hp and still be dependable. Thanks again, Big Wave Dave.

I would love to see you continue in that direction...   That thing could be a real monster!

Hey Timwylie, on Thursday I picked up my 1989 Batmobile body. I was going to cut the front and rear fenders off and adapt to my donor body. When I picked up the Batmobile body I was awe struck by its sheer beauty. As I drove down the freeways of LA with the Batmobile on my trailer the reaction from other drivers was incredible. People were beeping their horns, taking pictures with their cell phones and even small children recognized this car. As I refueled on my 8 hour drive home people came up and asked if they could take a picture of themselves with the body. I knew by the time I got home I could not touch this body. So yesterday I cut the Camaro body up, with no regrets. Big Wave Dave

Hey Tim, I tried to cut the Camaro body up two times. I loved that whole look. It wasn't until I picked up My 1989 Batmobile body on Thursday that I realized the futilty of considering to cut up a pristine Batmobile body. It would be sacrilegious. I can still build my Batmobile with some hotrod twists. Big Wave Dave
