Ya, I have the 16.5 X 12's on mine. That's what you want. you could hit a pothole and pop the outside tires off the rim with that much weight with the smaller. I'm also in the process of making replica beadlocks like on the original tumbler. I would look into the beadlock possibilities with the rim you get unless you can get ones that go on like the original. The only beadlocks I could find were not anything like the ones on the tumbler. I had to scratch build almost everything external on this car except the standard coilovers, and the external side shocks. Some stuff was kinda like the original, but I wanted exact, I even wanted small brackets to be exact.

I'm pretty sure that external bead locks like on the movie tumbler are not street legal. They do make internal ones that lock both beads that are street legal. Similar to whats on the origional Hummer.

Hey Youngbat thanks for the info I appreciate it immensely and I kind of forgot but got reminded by you about the bead locks. I want to get the fake ones that are street legal and I guess I only need to get two of them with the beadlock since only the two outside rims will be seen. Again thanks for the comfirmation of the rim size. BWD

More pics.

more pics. I do wish you could see it without the watermark, as it kind of blurs everything.

Doing this car in this garage is like building that costume in a small closet. Not at all comfy, or convenient.
