definitely my hero. your attention to detail is quite literally staggering. in some ways it makes me not even want to try. in other ways, it's as inspiring as ever. where do you get those wonderful pieces of hardware? Applied Sciences Division?
...does it come in black?

| not easy for me either Conrad. I just suck it up and do it. At every plateau, I get a sort of high and use that to go on to the next stage. I said this in an interview a while back, once you start up the mountain, you can't go back down and quit. If you do, you will set a precence for yourself that you may never fully recover from. Of course this pertains to guys like you and me who are not rich, do not have a big shop with a crew on hand who can bark orders and make it all happen. So we have to be smarter, faster, and more slick about it than the guy with the full-blown shop. I have actually had guys call me on the phone who have access to resources way beyond you and me, and they did their best at trying to get this car outa my hands for as little as possible. they failed. I came to realize the world is watching me. Make them watch you too.

| no, I don't farm ANYTHING out. couple of reasons: one, for me it's too expensive. take a long look at the driveway. It really needs fixing up. bad. money tight. So I really have to do it all myself, right in that stinkin garage. no money, no room, no time. I am a charter member of the no money, no room, no time club. The other thing is that in the past, I have seen others farm stuff out only to either not receive it, or not receive it very soon, and if do get it, it 9 times outa 10 isn't exactly the way you really wanted it to be. I mean to get something so unique to be that exact, the person doing the machining or whatever is really gona have to spend time wraping their head around the likeness of this thing, and most people will not. In fact, I have found that usually if it's not a part for a mainstream car, they usually don't take you as seriously as someone who is dealing with a corvette, or something. too risky. I am in the same boat with Conrad. i.e. I REALLY feel his pain.

| i know what you mean, i'd like to shake your hand on that one, i agree fully on it. Thats why i like working on my own cars, rather than getting someone else to do it, they make get it within the area of what i want, but most of the time, its not what i want, and i end up having to re-do it myself, whereas i should have just done it myself to begin with. Conrad and you both have something that no amount of money poured into a project can ever fault. Initiative. You could pour thousands and thousands into a project, but when you dont have the will to see that a quality job is accomplished, that was money wasted. My projects arent that big, for example, my 1/6 tumbler is made of paper, but one side has a panel 3/16 of an inch to far back compared to the other side, and that bothers me. And i hope that its that strive for detail that makes it a quality job, paper or not. Congrats on how far you have come being it has been you doing the work yourself. I'm glad i was here to witness it!
