NAME: akumabito

AGE: 26

HOMETOWN: Den Bosch (the Netherlands)

DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE? No, but I hope to one day own a 'batman inspired' vehicle. (yes, that is a nice way of saying that I lack the money and dedication to pursue a screen-accurate vehicle)

OCCUPATION: Still in uni.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I think I'm with the 'new generation' of Batman fans. I don't mean to offend anyone, but the classic Batmobiles just aren't for me - too cartoony. I love the Tumbler and the new Bat Pod.

I'd love to one day own a vehicle (either a car or motorcycle) that is inspired by the movie vehicles, though adapted for a modicum of practicality and road worthiness. That is how I found this forum - I was looking for technical information on the Tumbler for future reference and to work on some ideas of my own.

So for the moment I will very much be "one of those wannabes who doesn't contribute anything". I'll be doing a lot of lurking, a lot of reading and a lot of learning from the more knowledgeable folks around here. I'll jump in occasionally with some comments or questions, but don't worry - I won't be the guy asking for step by step instructions on how to build a Tumbler in two weeks for under $10k.

Greetings,

Name: John

Hometown: Moline, IL.

Rides: 1985 Chevy El Camino, 1985 Jaguar XJ6, 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe, 2006 Pontiac GTO

I have been fascinated by automobiles sonce I can remember. I have also been a fan of the Batmman movies and thought it would be awesome to own a vehicle like the batmobile so naturally I stumbled accross this site and decided to stay a while, haha. Anyway, right now I have a few projects underway and once some of those get finished and/or sold I would like to start a batmobile. The only problem I have is that I can't decide on the 89 or the Tumbler. I really didn't care for the Tumbler until i saw some of the builds on this forum and really started to like it. Can't wait to chat with all of you guys and share ideas about future or current projects.

DO YOU OWN A REPLICA BAT-VEHICLE? No, but would love to build one someday! The 89 car is the best looking imo, but I also like the Tumbler.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF YOUR PAST OR PRESENT INVOLVEMENT IN THIS INDUSTRY (if willing to share): Love working on old cars, but it's just a hobby.

OCCUPATION: IT

YOUR LINKS OR ONLINE PHOTO ALBUMS: http://www.delorean.ie

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I love 50's, 60's & 70's American cars, plus a few other odd ones such as the 89 Batmobile and DeLoreans. I currently own 3 DeLoreans - 1 restored (link to restoration: http://www.delorean.ie/JDrestoration.html), 1 under restoration and 1 needing restoration when I find time! I'd love to buy a fiberglass body of an 89 Batmobile in the next few years and build it up. I spent the past few nights reading Rusty's build thread which was great!

I saw an 89 Batmobile in 1998 in the Yankee Candle Car Museum in South Deerfield, MA. The museum is since closed I hear. The car had a sign saying it was one of 6 original cars built for the movie, and it looked really great. I took some pictures and will post them up when I get them scanned in. Anyone know where this car ended up?

Anyway, enough about me, great site and looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks, John.
