Looks Great Dave!

You seem to have the art of making negative molds down pat. Do you have an tips, advice, suggested materials or links to tutorials that you used to get good at it. I've always sucked at it and I worry about destroying my perfectly created plug to attempt molding again.

Hey Brcewne, it generally is just practice practice, practice. making the turtle shells was a good exercise in getting my skills fined tune. I did 32 of the ridge back turtle shells and that's with both molds being regular gel coat. I read a lot of the spec sheets on the materials and that's exactly how the manufacture wants to mix things. Then youtube by manufactures are excellent but some of the ones put on by amateurs have major safety issues. I initially got a lot of info from Tap Plastic but now many of the people that work there know very little about fiberglassing. And lastly I've made an effort to visit some of the old masters and learn a lot of the tricks of the trade. I love getting into the techniques that make a difference. I am getting two major shipments of molds and plan on getting pretty deep into mold making and pulling pieces in the next few months. I will try and make a few videos explaining what little I know. This is my hobby so I'm pretty passionate about doing things right. Hope all that helps thanks for following me. BWD

Been spending time molding the parts of the miniT but I have also been building some lambo body parts for the "No Mercy" build. This has been some of the most complex pieces I've built. This is after the gel coat is laid down.
