I'm glad to hear that! Suggestion: dont use bondo. haha.

And yes, the cake is definitely a lie.

Bondo's a (Crazy) to work with.
I'd probably go with polystyrene, dry-wall Spackle (far easier to work than Bondo), glazing puddy, and a few coats of surfacing primer.

When I started this project, the dry-wall Spackle was my first choice of coating. However what led to its demise was I could not get tape to stick to it when I wanted to sand off sharp corners. (maybe i was using the wrong masking tape, who knows), so i regrettably went with bondo.

More pics coming soon!

I've been very motivated to work on the '89 here recently, so the following photos were done over a span of 2 days. Hope you guys like what has been done.

I've started on the driver side, and its coming out MUCH more symmetrical than I could have ever dreamed.

Here is what i started with:

Batmobile

I finally build the turbine inlet:

Batmobile

Sanding sanding sanding.

Batmobile

Getting smoother...

Batmobile

Front shot. You may notice a drawn line on the hood that sways to the passenger side of the car, thats actually mark ups for that bridge that goes across the hood, and the canopy slides on.

Batmobile

This is usually what the bodywork looks like for the first layer of bondo or two, total ugliness, but its the evil that has to be in order to get it build up just right.

Batmobile

And this is what the model currently looks like. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to have it done and a mold cast by years end.

Batmobile

Well. Apparently I've not updated this build in over half a year. Guess it would be a good time for a new photo. I've swapped to clay to make it more indoor friendly (makes my wife happy). And it makes corrections a lot cheaper.
