Hey T-Man.....eye to eye the shocks are 23".

I ran into a problem....my rear hoop is not level. it's off pretty badly i'd say. i can't post a picture now cause I'm on a Mac. i'll post it later. I'm just a little discouraged that my rookie ass made a pretty big boo boo ( one of many). this is what i wanted to attach the shocks to but if i do, the shocks won't be level. I now have to figure out how to mount these shocks so that they are totally level and even. this is more important than lining them up with the hoop. If i have to make the adjustment with brackets i will.

will post the pic later. not working on the build today...friends are taking me out for my birthday (was earlier this week) to a restaurant in Manhattan. anybody watch Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares? I'm going to Gordon Ramsey's place at some fancy shmancy hotel called "The London" in midtown Manhattan. go figure..

if you dont want to cut that loop off and redo it you could make the shock mounting tabs for the right side a little longer so the shocks mount level.

What's more troubling is the tube that this hoop is welded onto isn't exactly straight either.

So this next picture (a little dark...to much background sunlight!) shows my idea to mount the shocks based on the shock height and the shocks themselves instead of the rear hoop. then make brackets on the hoop to adjust. The brackets may not look even but the shocks will be in line and even (God willing!).

Hello, Conrad. I found this Site about two weeks ago and am a huge admirer of all. I was especially jazzed to watch the video of your first drive. Wow, that was so cool! Great to share in the excitement of the experience. Thanks!

I have been looking for a way to contribute to this forum since joining. I was reading this post where you lost the auction, well you'll never lose another auction again... try this: www.auctionsniper.com

Conrad, i just wanted to chime in and let you know that i've been watching your build very closely, i'm loving what your doing and just wanted to tell you, dont sweat the small stuff.  I assure you with YOUR skills, that problem on the shock mounts will be like a pebble in the grand canyon before long.

Keep up the great work and i hope to see more of this soon!!!

Hey BruceC Welcome to the best Batmobile forum on the net - thanks for the recommendation - interesting site....although I won an eBay auction last week....about 100 bucks more thank the one I lost about a week ago, but still way less than what the motor is worth (if it's in the condition the seller stated it was). So there's a 13HP Honda GX390 on it's way to me...hopefuly by the end of this week. Auction sniper looks pretty cool (cool name too!)..next time i need something at eBay i may try it....

Always Always encouraging Shaggy....thanks! You pumped me up....now it's back to the cave.
